So I’ve had two trips now with my Carolina metal master mirrors and here is my opinions/review:

The good:
1) Built quality is great. Phenomenal fit and finish. Honestly it couldn’t be better ... the engraving with their logo is awesome!
2) Design wise they look decent.

The bad:
3) Mirrors are way to small. Being round it limits the field of view even more. If they were quare... even the same size would be better. A 6x6 mirror would be great
4) They don’t go out far enough to see your rear tire and tailgate. This is annoying and problematic when backing out of a garage or backing into a spot, you can’t see your rear fender or tire.
5) The location of the mirrors is right in level with my field of views They are to high. I thought I would get used to this... but two days of driving I find it just as annoying than ever being in my line of site on both sides.
6) These can be stolen easy... in like 6 seconds with one hand! Someone could have both of them off in a later of seconds. You have to buy lockers for $60 extra of you want the secure. It’s an extra bolt with key.

My wishes/recommendations
1) larger mirror
2) longer arm so they extend out past the body of the Jeep. This would let you see how close you are to something laterally, which you can’t see w the backup camera. Maybe there is balance between being close in and not too far out, but IMO they need to be out at least 3 inches further to be effective
3) lower mounting point, even at the bottom of the handle. This would take them out of site of 95% of drivers.
4) with this expensive of a product that is so easy to remove should come with lockers stock, period.

Conclusion:
Would I buy another product from CMM?

Maybe. their build Quality is great, but I would do more thorough research before purchasing items. For the price.. I should be 100% satisfied.... im like maybe 60%. Wouldn’t buy these again if they were Stolen. Kinda wish I could return them.

Dang, I just ordered these a couple of days ago after seeing someone else say that they are the gold standard of door off mirrors... now you’ve got me concerned. :whew: Great review, thanks for sharing!

I just ordered a pair as well. My buddy has them in his JK so I know the quality and the limitations. They’re still miles ahead of anything else available. Honestly I just need them to stay legal. I turn my head to change lanes and don’t just rely on mirrors.

I've had my CMM mirrors for ~3 weeks now.

My JT is my daily driver, so every Friday, soft top is removed (man-bun OK for weekday driving, not on week-ends), doors removed & CMM mirrors installed for "week-end mode" driving...It wasn't until after doing this 3 times that I realized positioning of these mirrors is CRUCIAL to them working worth a hoot. I agree with OP's take on using the mirrors for backing into a tight spot -- they aren't too useful for that!

I moved my brackets to the bottom of the handle -- they fit fine, I just swapped the right bracket to left & vice-versa. I like this position better. Again, adjustment is crucial -- I adjust mine while JT is still in the garage...

Coin toss as to whether I'd buy again. Would be nice if CMM would make some larger, non-convex, square mirrors that bolt on to the end of the current stanchions. Would also be nice if stanchions were 1"-2" longer.
