I went to S Korea in 2016. I saw zero Jeeps. I saw lots of G Wagens. Cool sighting.

FYI, there’s no trim choice for Gladiator in S. Korea.

Rubicon is only option and the emblems doesn’t have red accents along with fugly front bumper(that bumper is due to traffic law and same bumper in Japan).

Also, bluetooth speaker / bed liner are already equipped(not an option), and only AT is available.

So not that customizable like US and the minimum starting price is $56,000 at current exchange rates(but it’s already equipped with enough options so people usually don’t pay more).

And only 50 of Sarge green Rubicon were launched as special edition couple months ago(100 for wrangler) lol.

The automatic part doesn’t surprise me. Every vehicle I saw there was an automatic. That did surprise me.

Something about the hood looks different than mine. Can't figure it out at the moment.

There are two different types of driver’s licenses for non-commercial grade in S. Korea.

One for MT/AT and the another one is AT only and it’s easier getting AT only one that’s why most of vehicles are equipped with AT.

But the traffic is main reason. Traffic in S. Korea is no joke. Most people prefer AT due to crazy traffic.

Yeah, I was there for two weeks and spent the majority of my time in Seoul. Driving there is insane. Somehow cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles and bicycles all exist in one mass and no one hits each other and no one seems to pay any attention to lanes or traffic lights. People say Asians are bad drivers, but I saw some impressive driving skills.

It doesn't look like it has the little lip/flat spot that transitions from the hood bulge in the center to the leading edge of the hood. Unless it's the light/angle of the photo.

Agree it looks as it lacks the ā€œwellā€ before the hood bulge rise. My guess is pedestrian safety. Keeping peeps from landing on sharp things under the hood. Some regulations crack me up. If a person landed on the hood of a Jeep/Gladiator the least of the worries is landing on something sharp!
I’ve read somewhere Benz or BMW had proposed explosive bolts to raise hoods in pedestrian accidents. Not sure if it ever went into production.
