  1. Flat towing off of D rings

Dang it, I was really not wanting to ever tow a trailer on trips again. After 25 years of dealing with trailer tire blow outs with a towable RV and the pain associated with loading, unloading, hooking, unhooking, I really wanted to simplify.
  2. Flat towing off of D rings

I like that. Still might get bumped on an approach, but at least they look like they could take a hit.
  3. Flat towing off of D rings

This what I am trying to avoid. The main connection structure is very exposed if you are offloading and it impacts your approach angle. If this piece gets damage, your stuck. If your not planning on doing offroad trails then this is fine, but that's part of why we want to tow the Jeep, to do...
  4. Flat towing off of D rings

I am actually wanting D rings that bolt to the face plate of the frame so the bumper is removed from the equation for strength.
  5. Flat towing off of D rings

That's exactly what I am looking for, but wow, $375.00. They are nice though.
  6. Flat towing off of D rings

I am actually trying to find D rings that mount independent of the bumper that bolt directly to the end plate of the frame, that way the bumper is basically a non issue. Blue Ox makes the attachment the connects their system to the D ring, but i am sure it's made in China.
  7. Flat towing off of D rings

This is what I am wanting to do. Use these connectors to connect the blue ox directly to a standard 1" thick D ring. If you aready have a strong connection point, why buy an overpriced base plate that is under the bumper and exposed for damage while offroading.
  8. Flat towing off of D rings

Is anyone here flat towing by connecting the system to D rings that are bloted directly to the frame ends. I really don't like the blue ox base plate design with the side plates and the bar under the bumper. Are the frame end plates that the D ring bolts to strong enough to flat tow from.

Keep up the good work. This forum needs you to keep it straight
  10. Aux battery delete help!!

Dude, you are obviously the expert who can take 2 words from a post and write a whole paragraph about it, so I find that hilarious. The point is, auto start stop is a bad idea, in my opinion. If you love that feature and think it is an awesome engineering feat then keep it. I really don't care...
  11. Aux battery delete help!!

An amount of engine wear occurs at start up, probably as much as your engine turning off at red-light saves the environment, but it does occur. So to the orginal poster, do not do this bypass under any circumstances. It is better to take it to the dealer and pay for them to change the...
  12. Aux battery delete help!!

As soon as my time is up, I will let everyone know. But for now, I will enjoy sitting a light with my engine running, destroying the environment, but saving my starter and engine wear.
  13. Aux battery delete help!!

Truck was owned by an individual that did not drive it much, it had less the 10000 miles on it in three years. I was going to do the bypass anyway. I doubt I am masking any issues, just did away with future heartache and an annoying feature.
  14. Aux battery delete help!!

I did this quick bypass in about 5 min with no ill effects on the truck. Mine is a 2022, the auto start stop was not working, but I was not getting an error message, just that auto start stop was unavailable. I figured the aux battery was on its way out and I didn't want to mess with it. I...
