Played around with caster Road force balanced Ball joints Trackbar bolts I basically did all 4 together and solved my DW. I believe the ball joints were the winning ticket along with the Jeep wanting more than the “normal” 6/6.5 degrees of caster. I found that some other Jeep owners swear on...

Hahaha my little Harley doesn’t move much. I’ve had it over 10 years and so far I’ve ridden it only 3 times this year. I lived the boat life already, learned my lesson there lol

Awesome. I’m only 3 years on. Was a volunteer for 5 years prior. 27 more to go 🤙🏼

Here’s some more pictures. Also worth noting I got a Besttop Sunrider early on. This was the best “lifestyle” mod for it. I also have a Jscan. My spare tire is currently one of the old Kenda 35inch tires.

After seeing how active and friendly this forum was to my previous repetitive post of death wobble, I figured I’d create a journal/build on my Jeep. I grew up with Nissans on the NICOclub, Zilvia, my350z forums so I’m a sucker for a good build thread. This Jeep truly is a money pit but there’s...

I think I’m all set updating this thread. I hope someone finds some of my struggles useful. Trackbar with standard sized smooth shank bolts. HD Ball joints Road force balancing I’ll eventually do more but for now mountain bikes and RC cars need some attention. Seems good for now! Thanks...

That little harbor freight ball joint claw tool was perfect. I ended up with that instead of a small torch since the knuckle is aluminum. I had to grind the inner part of the claw tool to fit around the shaft and hammer it in so the “thumb” portion wouldn’t slip off the ball joint end. Quick...

Decided to replace the ball joints instead of the road force balancing since ball joints seem to be a common issue. Local shop likes Teraflex but charge $1700 installed. I saw dynatracs being popular as well. I went Teraflex. Install sucked. Knuckles would not loosen and the new ball joints...

Okay good to hear thank you. They are pretty light tires for being 37s. Starting to think I need to go back to the 35s just so I can drive on the highway again. Around town is great so far. No issues under 50mph

Interesting update. Spoke to another shop regarding road force balancing. Without even saying it, they asked if my tires were BFGs. Which they are and they said they never have luck with them balancing out well. Anyone have that experience?

Thank you! I think a proper road force balance is next. I still have a bit of wobble on huge bumps at speed. While replacing track bar bolts and tightening I did notice how much the upper mount flexes. I’ve see. Metalcloacks brace, are the sector braces with bearings worth it?

MAJOR UPDATE *Did not install mopar extended control arms* Installed front geometry brackets that I had laying around and shortened the Clayton uppers. My caster may be too much. Phone app level put it around 7.5-8. May have to extend the uppers alittle and get a proper caster reading. I...

I initially thought I needed longer lowers to help with caster. I also read in another post that new lowers helped someone’s else DW. $100 try. Ended up not installing them anyway.

Okay cool. I’ll check the torque then. I’ll have drop brackets back on today. I believe my current caster is around 4 degrees. Still need to put mopar lower control arms but one bolt is insanely tight, bent my wrench. Need to get a torch and work on that another day.
