Not sure who's been watching the right to repair battles? But John Deere just agreed to a $99Million (I know peanuts) settlement. ( John Deere settles long-running right-to-repair class-action lawsuit for $99 million )
I think for most of us "car guys" the part "John Deere has also agreed to...
Flyin6: Well bummer. I was hoping Todd would have a complete kit. I can share my parts list with you if you’re interested? Tyler at Tom’s 4x4 Super Store in Chattanooga TN, might offer a diy kit now? Tim
Flyin6: Keep us in the loop on your swap! I’d certainly be interested. I did my own DIY swap on my Mojave. It’s super fun to rip past another Jeep owner on the freeway! Just see the WTF look on their face. LOL
Gladiator Brad: I am not sure how you're going to integrate the electronics? I don't think you can do a standalone LS ECM with the Jeep electronics. The BCM (kind of the heart of the Jeep modules) isn't open programmable yet. Well at least as far as I know. Some one may have done it?? Good luck...
Jetset: I did this in my 2023 Mojave. I think someone provided you the link. I did it without removing the body. The electronics are the most difficult to do by far. I had help from Tyler at Tom’s 4x4 superstore in Chattanooga. DM me and we can discuss. Tim
Todd over at Jeep Speed shop just recently post a new video on his DIY Hemi swap kit for the JT's!! Check out his youtube video on "Setting the Story Straight".
Regarding the 2H transfer case. Earlier in the thread I detail how I converted my MP1622 to work with the Wrangler 392 8HP75 transfer case bolt pattern and 43 spline output shaft. Both of which are unique to the Wrangler 392 8HP75. With 2H, on the freeway I can get 18.5 MPG! Talking with some of...
JTGuy: Yeah I am in Colorado where state rules are bit more relaxed. But if you meet smog for the year of the engine and as long as it is newer or the same year as your vehicle can't that pass? I am no expert with CARB (both CO and CA's). But I have a 2023 JT that has the smog efficiency of a...
Jeepit: Alternator placement is key. Only the 392 Wrangler engine has a timing cover that has the high bolt location. All other Hemi’s 5.7L/6.4L (car and truck) have alternator placement lower. Which will require the electric PS pump be replaced by a belt driven pump. On mine aside from rotating...
ItDodge: I kept my electric power steering pump. I sourced an original used wrangler 392, with the alternator up high. My guess is AMW used the 392 crate engine (new) with the car timing cover that puts the alternator “down low” where the electric PS pump sits. So they went with the accessory...
Jay: Yes saw that in your profile! Thanks for your service!! I was in from 86’ to 90’. I did get to pickup a new ship USCGC Forward (911) one of the 270’. So I’m a plank owner at least!! Tim
AustinLonghorn: Yeah I understand the need for security and even protecting intellectual property. But it really seems like they are trying to kill right to repair. I am not sure how AMW does it. I just know the folks I talked to directly all had eastern European accents. Pretty sure they are...
