Well, I was thinking, can't they send an engine from the factory?

I was shocked when I heard the engine was backorder. Jeep is making new vehicles every day, how can the engine be backorder, and there is no ETA yet, but it is true, it is really frustrating.

My car exploded after 26,000 miles. There is a big hole in the cylinder block. Now with the approval of Chrysler to replace it with a new engine. But backorder, and the dealer has no ETA, has anyone had a similar experience? If the engine is backordered, how long will it take? thanks

HI How long have you been waiting for a new engine? I too had a 3.6L engine which unfortunately blew up at 26000 miles. Now waiting for the new engine, but BACKORDER, and no ETA, it's annoying.
