After staring at these even more, I may actually be a tiny bit disappointed if this represents the final result. I really like the character of the rolled bedrails and black external tie downs, and the way the bed angles in to the cab is a nice detail that I'm sorry to see go. I know it's...
I think they're looking at 600Lb/ft of torque, not 600HP, but that's STILL nuts! My tuned 6.0 F-250 is putting down just a bit more at around 750Lbs and it's *almost* scary fast. And that's in a 7000lb truck with 35s.
--EDIT--
I stand corrected - apparently before the engine was ever shipped...
It will definitely has better manners and be less tiring than your JK, but I think the empty pickup bed will counteract the advantages of the longer wheelbase. Of course if you land it up with 1000lbs of overloading gear and get the suspension dialed in right, it may surprise you.
The only info we have on that comes from the leak on tow ratings/weight capacity, which indicate the 3.6 gas and 3.0 diesel:

My point is that if thereās still going to be a āstandardā it wonāt be called a Sahara. My guess is we get a āsport sā equivalent with the base uconnect, cloth, and the standard 4WD system, with the ability to option in everything the Sahara has. Then we get a rubicon with 7ā+ uconnect, better...
Honestly, this is a lot like JLWF was a year ago, then the leaks started flowing.... Problem is, a bunch of those leaks had JT stuff too, so the stuff that's already leaked can't leak again!
If there was no base model, it wouldn't make much sense to refer to the Sahara and Rubicon model as 'Standard' and 'Premium' as the towing and capacity leak document did. The Rubi and Sahara are both 'premium' trim lines, which are geared to different uses.
Which one would you call...
Those pics have some very visible and troubling problems with them:
1) they seem to have the JK windscreen/hinge and not the JLs
2) they have what appears to be a fixed roof - maybe with removable panels, definitely not the soft-top we've been teased with
3) they aren't in Mojito!
I'm tired of the worry, fear, and complaining about pricing, especially since we don't actually know what it will be, nor can we do anything about it. So, in the spirit of getting back to daydreaming about driving a JT - let's talk about what we want! Starting at the the top...
Keep in mind, this is just one mule. Also, considering that Fordās been building the T6 overseas for years and the new Ranger is pretty much that, and the fact that Jeep doesnāt want to step on the attention for the brand new JL, itās really not that surprising that we havenāt seen an uncovered...
No solid front axle, no manual transmission, no diesel, no front lockers, etc etc. Should I go on? This is just another ho-hum mid-sized pickup with absolutely nothing particularly outstanding other than itās blue oval badge...
Itās not a convertible, itās not a Jeep, and itās definitely not...
Iām thinking my first addition might be 35s, but jeep may provide those for us if the JLR is any indication. Other than that, Iām planning on getting one of these as soon as they have a compatible version:

Pairing that with an adjustable height rack for...
Presumably to have a shorter door to swing open for use in parking lots or close to a trailer. there have been times I wished my JK opened that way, as swinging it all the open was impossible in some circumstances.
That is UGLY though...
Convertibles do this all the time with the side windows, no reason itād be difficult. That said, I expect the rear window to be removable, not powered. Which is a bit of a bummer, but I donāt expect to have a top on mine very often anyway...
