If you're stuck in deep snow the Rubicon lockers and a winch are going to be your best bet. If it's really bad then a friend too just like any other wheeling. If you're just on road only though I'd say a Sport with limited slip would actually be more useful than the Rubicon that has to be in...
The Tundra has a full power up and down rear window. It's a pretty cool option I think. It would be really cool on the Gladiator but I bet if they did it they'd want a few thousand bucks for the option. It's too bad it's not manually removable that would be pretty cool too. It would be much...
I have the manual. It is growing on me. I think it's actually a good way to save 2k. It is basically a 5 speed. Going 70 in 5th I'm turning 2300rpm or so. It does take a little time to get used to it's clutch. It will lay rubber very easily in 1st or 2nd. I've done it a few times...
My Rubicon says 4500lb max towing and 1300lb haul weight. There are a lot of options in that range these days so I plan on just buying a trailer that the truck can pull. I am not bummed by those specs at all really.
This thread is from over a year ago before we really knew a whole lot about what the production truck became. This was a thread from people a wondering a year ago how the hard top was going to be constructed.
After driving the manual for a few days I'm less disappointed in it. You save 2000 getting the manual which should be around what it costs to re-gear. I can't shift into 6th unless I go 15mph over the speed limit. So 5.13s will help immensely I think with acceleration and basically gain access...
Been busy but did get mine this week. Was at the dealership a total of 5 hours negotiating my trade and the purchase of the truck. Worst buying experience I've had. I have factory ordered a Tacoma before and it was a cake walk. Negotiating with FCA is like pulling teeth. Nobody seemed happy in...
I am replacing a '16 Tacoma that we had. It got in a wreck and cannot be replaced because Toyota doesn't make the engine/transmission combination anymore. Wife got a JK afterwards we thought was the coolest thing in the world. You just feel like Indiana Jones in a Wrangler. We've been truckless...
The new 5th gear being the JKs old 6th gear and the new 6th gear being even higher does not bode well with me. I have the 6 speed coming in the next week but I fear I'll have to take it straight to the gear guys to get 4.88s or 5.13s installed right off the floor. The JKs 6th gear was useless so...
That's why I didn't wait for the diesel. The extra power would have been fantastic but no way I'm giving up the manual for it. If there was going to be a manual option with it I would have definitely waited.
Surprised to only seen it mentioned a couple times but the Trailer Tow is a good buy for a couple hundred bucks. The Class IV hitch with the 4 and 7 pin factory connections is worth that $250. You get the upgraded cooling with it as well. If you think you might pull anything anytime in your...
Will a RG fit in the bed at all? They're 8 feet long the wheelbase is over 5. It may fit. I wouldn't be worried about the weight it won't all be on the tailgate. I'd be more worried about the length. Kendon makes some very nice motorcycle trailers that's how I'd transport my bikes if I had to...
I didn't get the LED package either. I'll retrofit projectors into my housings and do HID. I'm not sure why HID kind of went by the wayside. It's more work I suppose but for way better light. Get some unique aftermarket taillights and have $500 into the whole project if that.
We loved our JK. Fantastic car. That really brought us around to buying the Gladiator. Before that we had an 02 Grand Cherokee and it was garbage. When the thing ran the engine was fine. But it would not start for days on end and you'd go to try to start it one day and magically it would work...
My dad always says working on his Edsels, "it took some guy in the factory 40 seconds to do this." Usually after having spent the whole day doing the same task. Watching the video confirms this. Pretty cool to see how a Jeep is born.
That's the only reason I wear a jacket and not a vest. A lot of the S.F. guys don't care but you get 1 out of 10 guys who will bust your balls for not having sleeves on. Full disclosure I definitely ride with all the gear all the time. But I just feel like driving without a seatbelt is no less...
