I was running ST-Maxx 37x13.50R17 year round on my JKUR. Had 20k miles on them when I traded the JKUR for my JTR.
They were smooth, quieter than any other MT tire, and handled all 4 seasons in New York (winter/spring/road construction/fall) perfectly. Never slipped, never got stuck, actually...
I've had a few older Jeeps. You can see all of them in my sig.
Many of these are Internet pictures since all my pictures from "back then" have been lost.
1982 AMC Eagle (I still consider it an early Jeep) I really would love to find one in good shape again.
And my 1989 Jeep Comanche. Mine...
How did your test go?
Or has anyone else tried leaving the truck in neutral and using ACC to listen past 30 min?
Any complications? Any dead batteries?
When I built my 2011 JKUR I was advised (and thankfully listened to) to go with 5.38 gears. It helped, but the thing still had trouble maintaining speed uphill against a headwind.
coming from my comanche (4cyl/4speed), my '07 2-door (3.8L/MT), and my '11 (3.8L/auto), I'm very impressed with the...
My only attempt to teach my wife was quick, and ended in failure.
No, not a crash.
I was using my 2007 Jeep Wrangler.
My wife is so short that even with the seat all the way forward she could not disengage the clutch.
A small load, but he was VERY happy.
Hauled our Shiba Inu around the block for the first time in his life. Kept him leashed through the rear window, held by the wife.
compared to my old JKUR, the reception in the JTR is worse. It regularly cuts out with minimal tree cover and will "stutter" even in open terrain. The stutter isn't constant, but disappointing.
I know this is resurrecting an old post, but this was one of the reasons I upgraded from my JKUR to a JTR. I'd like to be able to tow my Willys to shows and/or body shops (40MPH tops is a little hard to get to distant places!)
I assume U-haul doesn't have a problem renting to Gladiator owners?
I would also like to know other ways to stop the radio timeout.
I like to enjoy the local drive-in. Don't want the movie audio through a single speaker, even if my phone could receive FM signals. And don't want to be in neutral when parked on the mound that lifts the front of the truck.
If I were to put any graphics on my Gladiator it would be in honor of my first actual Jeep. A 1989 Jeep Comanche pickup. Black with a burgundy "SporTruck" decal along the sides.
I'd love to see a "SporTruck" decal for the JTs in satin red to match the Rubicon dashboard on a black JT. That...
It's sad to think my old Willys could haul more water than a modern Gladiator for brushfire duties. The "Blitz Buggy" model supposedly had a 200 gallon tank.
