Wish I could have bought a diesel, but I bought my Freedom out of desperation, as I was in need of a vehicle right away.
Without any previous research or knowledge of the JT, I ended up getting most everything I wanted with this model.
I am thankful it was equipped with the steel bumpers...
From another thread I posted in...with pictures...
The mat was able to snap down and plug the hole, so everything fit much better.
Then I plugged the opening with the rubber plug pulled from the floorboard.
Albuquerque, NM to Carneseville, GA...1500 miles pulling a 5 x 10 enclosed trailer, about 1200 pounds.
The ride was great and barely noticed the trailer.
I averaged 17mpg, 100% stock.
The more I drive the JT, the more I want to drive it.
My wife is complaining more about the ergonomics/alignment with the pedals.
She is only 5'2", so has the seat forward quite a bit.
Her complaint is that the gas pedal is too far to the left, where she'd expect the brake pedal to begin, so it gives her pain in her right outer leg when moving...
The transmission issue is the reason I now own a JT.
I had experienced this very same issue in my 2020 Jeep Compass with 9 speed auto.
I was towing a trailer, about 1200 pounds total through the mountains in New Mexico, heading to Albuquerque. The engine had revved up fairly high a few times on...
Ok, I finally figured out exactly what you were referring to...
Luckily, the factory had already precut those two spots, so I just had to pop them out and then remove the rubber plug from the floorboard.
The mat was able to snap down and plug the hole, so everything fit much better.
Then...
I seem to have an issue with the front driver's side mat remaining fastened on the left side.
The raised portion to the right of the fastener is causing it to continually pop off.
It appears that the raised "vent" is too tall, not allowing it to remain fastened.
Anyone else with Mopar slush...
I did find that information...
It is strange why Jeep doesn't clearly outline this in the specifications for the Max-Tow.
From their website, they do mention that a Rubicon model they have shown on the page has a max payload of up to 1,160 pounds, whereas they offer an option for 1,700 pound...
