Hey... I'm curious if the cap just needs a wash or if the build up around the latches is sticky sealant oozing out? It also appears the vertical seams attract/hold dirt as well? Thanks!
Not sure where this thread went south... thought it was about whether we are happy with our JT's performance. Having had CJs, TJs, LJs, JKURs... I am pretty pleased with my JTR power "out of the box." While my pure trail rig has a MT, my JTs is my DD and the 8sp AT keeps the revs where they...
The Wrangler is NOT a unibody... it is body on a full length frame. The old Cherokees were unibody (body structurally connects the front and rear sub frames).
The bead locks were great on the JKUR, but about 1/3 of my tire width protrudes outside the fender (3.5" BS) on the JT. So... I'm considering a wheel with greater BS to pull a 12.50" tire back under the fenders and, while at it, I may put more of an AT tire on the new wheels and save the bead...
They came off the JKUR I had previously and I do like them for offroad/snow wheeling. They drive fine on pavement, but are a bit noisy compared to most MTs (until wind noise overpowers them). I will most likely move to an AT for 9 months of the year and save these for hardcore trail/winter...
You are correct, there aren't many JTs around my area yet... and mine is probably the least stock of the bunch. 37x12.5r17 MT/Rs on 17x9.5 Raceline Monster bead locks... for now.
Are those Black Rhino Arsenal wheels with -18 off set? If you're running 12.50 tire width, how much tire is outside your fender width? Really like those wheels on your rig!
If anyone is running the Nitto 35x11.50r17 on the OE Rubicon wheels, do you have a pic you can share of the tire vs. fender width? And... how to you like driving on them? Thanks!
