Yup that's exactly why I never transport my core setups outside a locked car cabin without proper protection.
Theft and vandalism are other issues which I believe some (if not many) of us are also concerned about. Personally i put my gears in bags or covered 95% of the time, even when stored...
I have the same challenge too. If I'm using my rod bag (rods with reels attached) I do it similar to what @Alabama Mud Machine does. Only that I slide the bag in (butt end first) from the rear door on the driver side
If I'm just transporting a few rods only I tried to stick them behind the...
I've been eyeing the Curt for a while. What's putting me on the fence is whether it will work with a steel bumper if I plan to upgrade in the future. Don't want to cut through metal or lose a skid plate like with the Rubi steel bumper setup.
The RH mid-width could solve that as a 2-in-1...
Not the exact same application but hopefully it could provide some reference/idea.
Here's 2 pics of a 17' canoe strapped on roof rails with the bed extender setup the other way (extending up). Notice that I have a hitch splitter/extender on which brings it back another foot or so.
I believe...
Hey bud, I also installed the RR Hard Rolling Tonneau (right before the first snowstorm in November) and have experience the exact same water leakage like you did.
I didn't make any measurements so good on you for figuring out about the tapering of the cover (as you mentioned in the "TO"...
First time Jeep owner here too. Though I've been looking at the TJ and JK (Wrangler family in general) since the late 90's. Held back on the trunk space of the 2-door at first, then the tow capacity later on. The JT solved both limitations for my usage and I couldn't have asked for more. It...
This might sound a bit outside the box, but has anyone considered tapping the 12V hot wire from the 7-pin connector to supply the desired voltage for different applications? Wondering if a wire tap or a 7-pin plug (with only the 12V / GND wired) would do the trick.
From previous experiences...
Regarding windows dropping on certain cars when the doors are closing, I have seen it in a few cars and brands.
From what I remember, those cars that do it have doors that have no "upper" window frames. Not sure if it's regarding releasing air pressure, reducing impact/vibration on the windows...
I have an Overland and across all the Off Road Pages ("Drivetrain", "Accessory Gauges", and "Pitch & Roll"), the Lat and Long details are displayed in the middle of the bar at the bottom. This has worked under both 2H and 4H (haven't checked for N or 4L though).
It does sound a bit like getting remote start accidentally (heated seats and steering wheel were on).
However, it does sound more than that because in the OP's other message (post #5) the JT was "ready to go" ("I just put it in gear and drove off").
This sounds like remote start has been...
@danielspivey
I know you have been asking for references which I have provided some in my earlier post:

In addition, as per version 3 of the manual, in the section under "Automatic Climate...
From what I've read on this thread and the manual "Climate Controls" section, I believe there is a distinction between:
1. Manual Climate Control, and
2. Automatic Climate Control under "Manual Mode" (Refer to description in manual about the "Auto" button: "Toggling this button causes the...
I'm no expert in HVAC or ACC, but I thought I'd share my 2 cents from the little I know (warning: looooooooong read). Just wanted to mention up front that I have NOT read through the other JT HVAC issue thread and I am NOT dismissing anyone having issues with their JT. I am just glad that the...
