  1. 3.6 Engine Tick

It’s obviously water cooler banter spoken by someone other than the technicians performing the shop hours, but it is none the less someone who sees and hears the number of owners coming through with echoing complaints/concerns. Honestly, whether its 1/20 or 1/1,000 it means none the difference...
  2. 3.6 Engine Tick

Service manager told me there’s a nationwide shortage of parts and it’s just a matter of the shop you take it too; whether they have some on hand or not. Those dealers who do don’t barter or sell to others cause they know they’ll eventually need them. As far as resourcing for self repair I’ve...
  3. 3.6 Engine Tick

I took it to the dealer and was told the sound is most likely injector knock. They did offer to look at it but would need to keep for 5-7days. The service manager gave the percentage of “One out of every twenty vehicle with the 3.6L is a lemon.” Then went on to tell me about how a recent owner...

appreciate your feedback devnull. The drive side has a pressure cooker sound to it vs the ticking. Made the passenger noise seem abnormal when compared.
  9. 3.6 Engine Tick

Hi everyone. New to the forum and new to Jeep/Gladiator. I researched mid-sized truck for towing our little (3.2k lb) travel trailer and hunting. Did great on a late season oryx hunt and pulled trailer easy. I purchased with 14k miles and did the oil change at 19.5k. Now at 20,675 I thought I...
  10. Intake camshaft back order

This is what mine sounds like and I just did the first oil change since buying it in January with 14k miles(changed at 19.5k miles). I also saw no oil deposits on the valve covers and today when I opened the hood now see it over both valve covers with observed seeping from the sensor at front of...
  11. Fluttering sound at acceleration

what would be additional symptoms of this? I thought I heard the “ticking” and when I opened the hood I notice oil residue over both valve covers.
  12. Intake camshaft back order

Hi Jcartwright, is this in regards to the need for the rocker, lifter, cam replacement due to the dreaded pentastar tick issue? How did you know when it was happening? I bought a certified used Mojave with 14.5k miles in January and I’m worried I may have the issue now with 20k on the odometer.
