Intake camshaft back order

Just incase everyone don't know atleast here in pa camshaft for the 3.6 are high demand my 21 mojave has been in the dealer for 4 weeks now waiting on one and no dealers that have them will give them up and all the mopar parts have them on back order no clue for how long all I know is at the dealer where mine is they are waiting for them for 4 vehicle. Hope none of you have to go through this I've had it since October has 42k miles battle death wobble for 2 months then this so coming back to the jeep community hasn't been as pleasant as I hoped.

Hi Jcartwright, is this in regards to the need for the rocker, lifter, cam replacement due to the dreaded pentastar tick issue?

How did you know when it was happening? I bought a certified used Mojave with 14.5k miles in January and I’m worried I may have the issue now with 20k on the odometer.

This is what mine sounds like and I just did the first oil change since buying it in January with 14k miles(changed at 19.5k miles). I also saw no oil deposits on the valve covers and today when I opened the hood now see it over both valve covers with observed seeping from the sensor at front of valve cover.

appreciate your feedback devnull. The drive side has a pressure cooker sound to it vs the ticking. Made the passenger noise seem abnormal when compared.

It sounds like a diesel with a normal diesel knock which to the newer diesel engine owner would confuse with a rocker /camshaft tick

I wish it were haha. Owned numerous 3/4 and 1 ton towers and this is not that. Good ol 3.6 ticky tacky. Changed oil and filter today to look for shavings and found numerous in the filter media. Off to the stealer tomorrow for diagnostics.

Any luck on getting camshafts. I'm being told at least two months almost 10,000 on back order.

10,500 on back order as of today. I couldn't get any ETA. The thought of paying for a rental for months is not helping my mood.
