Yeah, it was exactly as they said above, I needed to weight it down and then it worked. Since you have done that and its still not winding down, could be the cable is wrapped up.
They do not offer a specific diesel spring from my knowledge. From their tech notes this is what they say regarding this kit.
TECH NOTE: Diesel models will net approx. 1.75" of front lift over stock due to their heavier weight.

There are channels mounted above that you would slide your 4ft table into. You can see the table slid into place in this picture. I use the bungee to cut back on any rattle from the clips.
