The one source I found was a C&D report from 2023, speculating that the new Gladiator and new Dakota may share underpinnings. But as Body-On-Frame.
Edit: Not sure when this was published. It notes Body On Frame for the 2028 Dakota.

Yeah, that āreal Jeepā argumentā¦ā¦. Itās been around forever. I understand - I love my JT because it resembles a vehicle brand and style that has been around for decades - instantly recognizable.
Three scenarios -
1) the JT sales will be in the slumps enough for Stellantis to decide not to...
Very valid thoughts! That wasnāt on my radar. Iād guess that future sales numbers will drive such decisions.
Potentially if the JT sales lag enough and the JL numbers are strong, it could very well be that the JT line steps aside for the intro of the new Wrangler.
Very cool - White steelies are on my list as wellā¼ļø Along with white Retro Jeep Fender and Tailgate scripts.
Had these 18ā on my WK2 and JL (finished in black). Will have them powder coated white first (getting rid of layers of rostoleum spray paint).
Great and interesting video! Thank you for posting it.
Its pretty clear that any OEM canāt just switch gears on a dime, and start installing powertrains willy-nilly.
The return of the Hemi in the Ram was about as straight forward as it gets. Design (and testing) was in place.
If the H6 would...
Would the H6 fit the JT chassis, or will it need a longer engine bay?
The 500cc/cylinder seems to resemble the BMW recipe (2.0 4Cyl and 3.0 6Cyl).
Ram Forum comments seem to be very positive on this engine.
