Mine has the hook on the inside bumper as well but wrong side. My cord is mounted on the driver's side? I added a small extension cord and routed down side and out below grill and bumper.

What's your build date. You may not need the upgrade depending on your build date. I would think the latest versions are done at the factory once available.

My best mods to date! It was my Birthday gift to myself. Panels are either on or off. Your pretty committed. Sunrider it's your option at anytime. Yes it's expensive but damn the ability to open at a whim and close back up at will is priceless!!!

Have you ever thought about trying Gorilla glass. You would be perfect to test this out in the environment you drive in. I also think there's a 2 year warranty if I remember correctly.
