Bought a used 76 (lots of miles on it) CJ5 from a friend with the 6cyl, edlebrock manifold, Hooker headers, 2brl carb @15mpg on a good day. Lots of miles on her. It replaced the dirt bikes as the kids arrived so the whole family could enjoy the woods and fun. Snaps on the top kinda snapped down...
Holy C**p batman, that description makes my head hurt!
Again, I am so thankful for the members of this community and their willingness to share their knowledge!!!!!!!!
Aren't we glad we have all these electrical Fancy Toys?
I never had to worry a darn bit about this kind of stuff with my CJ5 or CJ8 scrambler.
Only interior thing you had to muss with was if you got a leak in the heater core.
And that took about 30 min and 2 new hoses to fix.
I didn't have...
Wow, what a ride. Just had the time to stop and read since my last post.
Happy "new" diesel JT to you!
My story was a lot shorter. Finally saw a 21 rubi Jt diesel even had a Mopar lift, 36k miles. Really shouldn't have given them 65k (with all the financing crap) but long as God lets me get...
One little thing about the diesels, I have both a 21 JLU Rubicon & 21 JT Rubicon.
On the JLU, Stock up to 29 in freeway, 25 around town. Put 35"s on. Now 27 freeway, 23-24 around town.
Jt almost the same but about 2 mpg lower.
I live in Washington so fuel taxes are a big deal. I usually can...
You guys are so smart. In April last year I purchased a 21 JT Rubi 3.0D with 26k. It was in real nice shape and clean w/mopar 2" lift kit & OK 35's. I had not been on your site yet and didn't have all you-all's collective knowledge to call upon.
By today's standard (prices dropped), I probably...
Back in the 90's I had a CJ-8. At the time Smittybuilt had a hard top for the whole jeep from front to back. I know there were full soft tops as well but cant remember who made them.
As there were for a while, CJ-8 type kits for JK's, don't know if they made JL versions before they went out of...
The reason many a dad (like mine) pulled boats, camping trailers, and everything else with their cars, was most trucks of the time only had two doors. Not much room for the family when you can only afford one vehicle.
Haha...already did that. 2 years off, Went back to work to help out mom-in-law gone into dementia. Since then, wife's 2020-Bikini JLU 2.0t, my 2021 JLU Rubi 3.0D, recently added a 2021 JT Rubi 3.0D. So #1 paid off, 2+yrs-26k left on the second, 7yrs-60k on the latest. Retirement is but a dream...
Love the wraps and the historical look!
You guys make me miss my CJ8 Scrambler. It was the tan with stock similar design.
Missing my scrambler led me to get a Gladiator. Not sure the better half would let me add similar decals to "our" Snazberry1.
This is why I Love my echo diesels!!!!
Even upgrading to 35x11.5-17 AT4w
21- JLU 23 round town/25+ highway
21- JT 20 round town/23+ highway
Have a great trip!
Careful what you sign. Told kid I didn't want the aftermarket glass break and paint scratch. Total almost 5k.
Thought he removed and didn't look close enough when signing.
Hit the sales manager up next day by phone when I read the contract. Got Voice Mail of course. So first opportunity to...
So much info, so little time!
Thanks ya'll.
Went to 35's and upped the wt. 20lb with Falkins 33-MT to 35-11.5 At4w on both my diesel 3.73, lost maybe 2-3 mpg on my 2021 JLU and 3-4 mpg on 2021 JT - both Rubicons. I figure the difference is just weight.
We went with the American Adventure labs set up. First Gen. Still working great. I took off my Rubi JLU finders, stripped and set up. The Bikini BLue with Black gloss Rubi fenders look great on her sport.
Have not had one problem yet. Over a year going strong. The day we installed the Rubi gloss...
