I have a manual and the only time ( once ) I observed it activating is when my wife drove it, we were talking to the neighbor. She put it in neutral and let the clutch out.
I take a picture of the receipt by the odometer, print it out and keep it in my folder of documentation. I also have an aircraft logbook that I put notes in every time I do anything, including adding air to the tires. In the Porsche community documentation means thousands of dollars on resale value.

first pic is a bracket for a shock absorber to dampen axle hop, second picture is a differential locator for really compressed suspension. ( second is just a guess but have seen it on other vehicles)?
