If you look inside the hole with a light there are metal retainer clips. I pulled those out using a pick and long nose pliers because they were making it hard for the bolt to re-engage. It was a easy bolt on after this. Hope that helps.
As someone who hadn't tried adaptive cruise control until 2018, I have to say it has been very nice to have during long highway commutes. From experience in my Toyota and now on my Jeep, I don't notice any differences between the two makes, they are both great.
