Curious if those of you towing with the Gladiator ever use the manual shift with their auto trans. I feel downshifting on steeper inclines helps it pull better.
Been towing my 22’ Airstream across country with my JT Rubicon and tows great. Weighs about 4100#s dry, gets about 12-13mpg at 65mph. I have an anti-sway WD hitch which has helped a lot with heavy cross winds and constant stream of semis passing me.
You guys towing with cruise control on, up and down hills? Ive heard some vehicle manufacturers dont want you to tow with it on, especially in the rain. Ive been towing a 22’ Airstream across country, through some heavy rain, and its worked great for me but haven't seen an answer to this question.
I keep hearing its a cooling problem preventing the diesel Gladiator from having higher tow ratings but I am surprised the engineers cant come up with a solution to redirect airflow from under or over the motor. Why not have a big hood scoop or scoops under the front somehow. We need someone...
Should be called "Mallberry"
Where's my tow mirrors, trailer brake controller and diesel version with a better tow rating. Thats what they should be coming out with.
I think this is a terrible direction for FCA and I think their priorities are messed up. Are they going to come out with a lowered version on bags next?
The gladiator is promoted as having the best in class tow ratings but still haven't come out with tow mirrors or a factory trailer brake...
Just towed my 4200lb Caravel Airstream 22', wife and dog on a 300 mile test run. Mostly flat highway at 60-65mph, on my 35" BFG KO2s got about 13-14mpg. Towed nicely, plenty of power, don't have my antisway/WD hitch installed yet, so did experience sway a couple times.
Getting everything...
Nice. I only mentioned it as I'm jealous of the fact your tires don't stick out like most of the jeep builds on this forum..lol I have 35" KO2s, as well, but I specifically got wider rims, as I got a call from Tire Rack, after ordering, saying they couldn't be installed on the stock 7.5" LE...
Another GC LE made its way home! After only 2 days it went from 13 miles on the odometer to over 1000.
Drove it from Eden NC to Pigeon Forge Tennessee to Burts Pumkin Farm in Dawsonville, GA (picked up a few hundred lbs of pumpkins) back home to Tampa FL (averaging about 19-20mpgs).
My only...
How do you know you have your GCLE frame built and inspected? Are you getting that info through the FCA chat? When I tried to get specifics through the chat, the last three times, I was told mine is in D1 status and it could be there for up to 30 days, no ship date able to be given, no other...
Ok, you're right now that I look closer. I think it was the shot of the bright sun hitting the front seats that looked off but when I look at the part thats in the shade it looks good.
