We just picked up a pre-owned Gladiator with a Canopy Camper to replace a TinyRigCo built Power Wagon with an Alu-Cab Cabin, the larger version of the Canopy. This is our seventh rig over the years, each with a different combination of built by me versus bought.
By far the biggest reason we...
I still like the idea of fuel storage best but having separate shower water is also an attractive use. My comment about weight was more a nod to those who bring that up about the Alu-Cab tank. All in all it’s less weight than an extra passenger in the back seat.
I think many of us, not all, have the Alu-Cab tank on the other side of that wall, so I'm not sure how big your market would be. Fuel is an interesting option but would require a way to slide it in and out to be useful. But then that's adding even more weight to that front wall, above the bed...
I tried to buy one on eBay and shipping was more than the bag, by quite a bit. I can only guess they input the actual dimensions int he the shipping app rather than rolled or folded.
Not to hijack your post but I'm also looking for a freedom panel storage bag. Rather than making a separate post, maybe someone else will have one for sale once you get yours.
I noticed this online yesterday. Still waiting for details but based on this graphic from the OK4wd website it appears they will have a way to sleep 4. I assume that means on two levels not a fold out tent. It will be interesting to see what is involved with removing the tent and filler kit and...
Checked a few more projects off the list. I had my regular shop install HD AEV springs which add 400 pounds of additional carrying capacity, not pictured. I also had them install Rock Slide Engineering step sliders with the additional 3/16” steel skid plates. The steps are 10 gauge steel and can...
Our first night of the trip was at the Hauser Geode Beds. We did some hiking and some digging and brought home a bucket of rocks, hopefully some will be nice examples.
The next night we camped in the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. We had never been and were really just looking for a nice...
In 2022 I bought a green Ram Power Wagon and had an Alu-Cab camper installed. I added a Goose Gear interior and was slowly building it into our next rig, but I never got to do a build thread online. I had knee replacement but recovery was going slowly. We attempted to go camping with friends in...
We went with the 6 ton General in a canvas bag. Safe Jacks make awesome kit. We went with the soft bag for the same reason as well as it fitting in different areas more easily than an ammo can.
Mine might be mounted a tad closer but it looks like the same one. In my experience, the unzipped awning case fills that gap fairly well. You can buy a gutter for the rear section to cover that gap.
I had it from my previous build but thankfully hadn't installed the legs yet. It was an easy job with a couple of bolts and some pop rivets. As for the room/walls themselves they're classic Alu-Cab, heavy, overbuilt, and perform flawlessly. The bag with the walls weighs 33 pounds. I store it...
Tommy's a great guy, too bad he didn't end up getting to use this, but we're happy to! I did move my Hest mattress over from my previous ACCC. It was fantastic on this trip as well.
New guy checking in. A few weeks ago I bought a well equipped 2021 Rubicon AEV 370. I've added the hood mount hi-lift bracket and a Rotopax fender mount on the driver's side, although no Rotopax yet as I couldn't find a 3 gallon in stock.
It came with the ACCC and 270 awning, 3 of 4 Goose Gear...
The title says it all, I'm looking for an undersea storage box with the lockable lid. I don't even care if it locks, I just need the box with the lid(s). I'm in SoCal (High Desert) but willing to drive. Thanks.
