Exactly - otherwise it's just a novelty that won't pay off in the long run and will hit craigslist after a year or two. RTTs are definitely a bit of a fad, but some of them actually do present some solid advantages. There's a reason all of the overlanders in Australia and Africa have used...
For me, a rooftop tent was about ease and convenience. I live in Colorado and climb a lot of 14ers and do technical rock climbing, mountain biking, etc. For many activities at higher altitude (specifically 14ers), you need to start very early in order to avoid afternoon thunder storms in the...
This is awesome! I've been wondering how the Gladiator might look with the RSi canopy with the doors and roof removed...the ability to go topless is one of the big draws of the Gladiator and I was worried that using a canopy might not lend itself well to using that feature...but this looks great...
Just picked mine up on Friday and have enjoyed exploring some of the off pavement areas around Colorado Springs!
Today we drove around Pikes Peak via offroad trails and some highway. I LOVE this thing so far...I've owned 2 Jeeps other than this one, and this thing blows the others away. Jeep...
Thanks! And no lift on mine (yet), just stock. Considering 35s and at least the Teraflex 1.5" leveling kit soon though!
And more exploring today - drove all the way around Pikes Peak in Colorado via offroading trails and some highway:
Finally took delivery!
Best vehicle I've ever driven. Seriously an amazing job by Jeep...solid, comfortable, quiet...I've owned 2 other Jeeps and this blows them both away. 100% worth the wait.
Going to be spending a lot of time isolating in this Gladiator out on the mountain roads.
Yeah they are all awesome products! And I agree, prob will be a while before we see them all in one place tho, the aftermarket has been pretty slow with these for whatever reason.
Not sure on directly bolting it, but RSI does have nice crossbars with the same weight tolerances as the topper itself that connect right to the built in rails on the top of the canopy. That is what I plan on using.
IMO, zero reason to use a Rhino Rack for a RTT. Extra dead weight.
My Roofnest Eagle is the size of a queen mattress and weights 140lbs. with bedding.
I have no other equipment to keep up there...thats why I have the truck bed and the topper, haha.
I can see the appeal of an awning, but...
This is by far the best looking topper for the Gladiator so far. Love the look, price, and all the included features...they don't nickle and dime for every feature, they just include it. And FREE SHIPPING if you have it sent to a distributor...so far there are 5 within 45 min of me, so thats yet...
Anyone have a clue as to the size of these tires? Not sure if they are 35's or 37's....just trying to get an idea of the proportions going on in the photos.
Yeah, it seems to be dealer specific. I bought with Faricy in Colorado Springs and they are very professional with no shady business in my experiences with them...so I'm hopeful they will honor the deal.
It would be crappy of me to go to buy it and ask to re-negotiate the deal since the...
