I wholeheartedly agree and very much appreciate everyone’s input. I’ve learned a ton from every one that generously took time to input. I’m new here but the responses confirm that I joined the right group of people!
It’s not what I would call loose, as I’ve described it it’s just excess play which now I understand is normal with solid axle equipped vehicles. Although I just acquired mine new in January the new Gladiators on the dealer lot have the same play.
It was good to compare but now I have a big problem - my saleslady at Jeep is all excited and wants to sell me a new Gladiator, hahaha (she just got me into this one in January)!! Hmmm, the wider rims and the ATS 2.0 would be the easiest solution so this is an idea I'm giving serious consideration.

Thanks Folks, I knew I’d get sound answers here. I’ve had 3 Grand Cherokee’s but, yep, this is my first solid axle vehicle. It’s not terrible just not what I’m used to. Otherwise I love everything else but the 7” infotainment system. It’s okay just not the 8.4 I’m used to, lol!
Hey folks, I'm new here and glad to be here. I'm trying to get good information on mitigating the looseness in the steering/steering wheel (not death wobble). It's not terrible but it's an issue I'd like to resolve on my 2023 stock Gladiator Sport S. Thanks for any help with this.
