Help!: So I've got it on there today, finally. Been a struggle in the PNW to find a dry day where I could get an extra pair of hands to lift. As it sits, I have all the brackets installed finger tight, and the final note in the instructions says "The D-shaped seal should only compress +-30%"...
  2. Roofnest Condor Roof top tent

I live in Victoria BC, which makes it hard to pick up packages from the border, being on an island. So I use a broker called Seawings. They have a warehouse in Washington, and they pick up my packages and bring it to Victoria Airport. So there was about a hundred bucks extra in shipping, but...
  3. Roofnest Condor Roof top tent

Yessir! We made it to the beach, and a bunch of locals from Holberg were doing a beach cleanup! Apparently lots of stuff from Japan lands there, it was amazing the amount of junk that got pulled off the beach! Fantastic place, and the surrounding area is absolutely wild. We are from Victoria but...
  4. Roofnest Condor Roof top tent

We love our roofnest Condor XL. It does stick out the back of the truck a little, but not any farther than my trailer hitch drop ball mount. But that does provide nice cover for the tailgate area from rain and stuff! We have tested it in hard-core rain and wind, it has been flawless. Super fun...

Helper air bags are very easy to install yourself. You don't need a air compressor much, they hold the same amount of air for weeks! Its actually easiest to adjust them with a bicycle air pump. I'm not sure if air bags work with aftermarket length springs though, but with the stock Rubicon...
  6. Factory V8

I've driven ecoboosts, even a Raptor on a test drive, they're pretty impressive. But the added complexity does make them break down sooner than simple V8 engines. They also require premium fuel. There is just more to go wrong in a boosted setup, with the layers of complexity that they bring...
  7. Factory V8

Rubicon manual transmisson. Regearing next to 5.13 is going to help my lack of torque off road a lot!
  8. Factory V8

I've had many V8s and turbocharged engines over the years, and turbocharged is not always as fun. Boost is great, but you have to wait for it, and its not available down low RPM where and when you want it for daily driving, cruising, and wheeling. Boost is awesome in short bursts, but when...
  9. AirLift rear bag system - info you need to know

I finished my install late last night... and the left side air bag leaks. I'll try replacing the fittings, but what a pain in the ass! At least I know its on the left side... I ended up putting the valves in the corners of the bumpers. Drilled the hole in the plastic. No turning back now...
  10. AirLift rear bag system - info you need to know

I just installed my Air Lift bags... but I just can't decide where to mount the valves... I hate drilling into my truck! Where have you guys located your air valves?
  11. I'm building my idea of a perfect (for me) Gladiator rack

I I read this post,e the link to thatthose nuts on Amazon shows that they are out out of stock. I used these from McMaster Carr on a different project. They are black oxide, which should have slightly better corrosion resistance than plain old steel. https://www.mcmaster.com/94750a111 Also...

Mine was supposed to arrive at Adventure Ready mid August... then late August... now late September. So now I need to fabricate a bed rack for our new RTT for our 3 week road trip in September. Really dissapointed in how long these days are, I was really counting on the timeline. $%&# Covid!!!!!
  13. Production V8 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Hemi Spied!

One way or another, I will have a Hemi in a Gladiator, its just a matter of time. There are companies that can mate a 5.7L Hemi to my 6 spd. Transmission. That's going to be the deal breaker for me though... They would need to offer it in a manual transmission to sway me away from installing...
  14. RLD designs pic request

I went with the Roofnest Condor XL, some sort of idea. I love the new hard shell foldout RTTs! It will arrive late July, but my RLD canopy isn't scheduled to arrive until late August now. Its going to be a nail biter because we have a 3 week expedition planned for September 12th!
  15. Dometic CFX3 55IM installation

Hey guys! Just wanted to share my findings/install. I had my heart set on one of the new Dometic CFX3 55IM units. I measured, and scratched my head and measured some more. I don't really need a slide, I didn't want to loose valuable tailgate space and I wanted the fridge to be easily...

Hey guys! Just wanted to share my findings/install. I had my heart set on one of the new Dometic CFX3 55IM. I measured, and scratched my head and measured some more. I don't really need a slide, I didn't want to loose valuable tailgate space and I wanted the fridge to be easily removeable. I'm...
  17. Rhino Rack Batwing vs Alu-Cab 270 Shadow Awning

I read that the manual does suggest immediately deploying the poles for the 23zero. I like it a lot too, but it doesn't have the same coverage around the back as far as I remember.
  18. Rhino Rack Batwing vs Alu-Cab 270 Shadow Awning

I was under the impression that the higher the number, the thicker the material. At least with the 600D and 280D numbers. But I can't imagine the alucab is the thinnest material? I know tents have similar varying ratings too.
  19. Rhino Rack Batwing vs Alu-Cab 270 Shadow Awning

I like the shape of it best. I just wish they would add a couple inboard poles to vault the shape. For extra headroom and rain clearing.
  20. Rhino Rack Batwing vs Alu-Cab 270 Shadow Awning

That's a really good point... I want to maximize coverage on the backside/tailgate. I just like that the RLD is super strong and doesn't need poles. But 1499 usd is too much money for me right now. (Just picked up a Dometic CFX3 55 IM!!!) The OVS is appealing because its regularly priced @ 899...
