Do your research on shocks. It is unfortunate all of the shock manufacturers list their shocks by lift hight now, when lift height doesn't matter much, bump stops matter. There are a few shocks that offer a fair amount more travel taking into account the 1" bumpstop. I actually asked a popular...
You can adjust the pinion angle with the lowers just fine, it will just shorten the wheelbase a tiny bit. None of this is really necessary at 2" of lift.
For the front end it os the opposite, adding only lower adjustable control arms will allow you to get better caster angle by extending the...
If you have to travel hundreds of miles to the nearest tire shop put the wrong size tire on on the passenger front and then put the passenger front in place of the tire that went flat.
A bias ply 35 is going to have similar loaded radius to a radial 37 at the same pressure. the bias tire is...
1. A none matching spare isn't the big issue everyone is letting on
2. Saying once a tire becomes years old it is no longer viable is true, but we are talking 10-20 years easy.
Having a perfect matching spare is just an appearance and convenience item
appreciate all the details in your right up!
Also just noticed your location, My grandparents lived in Leisure Town and I lived in Dixon growing up! My Dad is still in Dixon
If you go to their website its much clearer then if your looking elsewhere. The Foamcell is their shocks, which definitely are not just rebranded twin tubes. They list them as rebuildable and the pistons offer more then 150% area then a standard twin tube such as a Rancho RS5000.
Are the...
Its rather annoying JKS doesn't list the length of the bump stop extensions that come in their lift kit, or how much the acos extends the bump stops. The bump stop extensions look at least 2" longer if not more in the front, you could run the fox shocks designated for 3.5-4" lift to get a bit...
Cool, confirms what I suspected. You had nothing to add to the conversation but wanted to put someone else down to make yourself feel better.
The information I have provided is clearly not misinformation as you have strong opinions on what I said, yet are unable to provide any information to...
I'm still trying to figure out what information from 74weld I am supposed to be reading that is in disagreement with anything I have said?
instead of being cryptic how about you point out what "misinformation" I have provided? One of the principles of productive discussions is all parties being...
What is your goal with the front bumpstops?
Which JKS adjustable bumps were you looking at?
What length shocks are you looking to run?
You don't really need to extend the bumpstops with your setup, but I would extend them 2" so you can run longer shocks.
I'm not 100% following. What specific shocks are you looking at purchasing?
It sounds like you are concerned that if you switch from Evo 2.5(3.5-4" actual) springs to Claytons 2.5" springs (3-3.5" Actual) your shocks will no longer be the correct length. Thats not how shock lengths work!
I'm sure they specify to get an alignment after the install, but it makes me wonder what the recommended starting point for their control arm lengths puts the caster at
Jack the front of the frame up 1.5" (measure between the axle housing and frame) and step back and take a look, then do the same with 2.5". That is the nice thing with spacers, you know exactly how much lift you are getting!
Correct me where I am wrong then, I'm here to learn and share information just like everyone else.
