I wouldn't say it's completely unneccessary. Drive it where it matters and you will notice. Worth it enough to re-gear? Only the individual owner can answer that. I personally like having pep off the start as well as maintaining highway speeds in the mountains.
It's not MUST until it is. Drive up steep mountain highways and trying to maintain speed is a PITA. The 8 speed auto does make it a little nicer though I will agree.
Understand a couple of things from that ad. First is that it covers up to a 2016. Curious what 2017 and up will be (probably similar). They use a minor install kit which means they will re-use your existing bearings (not a big deal on low mileage rigs). Lastly, they use Revolution gear sets...
Nah I have a rock crawler for the harder stuff. I'll piece my own lift, I won't buy a "kit". One size may fit most, but not mine. I'd rather get it set up perfectly. I need to get my TJ re-worked a little first before I dump money into the JT.
I live south of Denver and we just had a pretty good snow storm. This is the first storm I drove in with the Galdiator. I have 35" Nitto Ridge Grapplers and wanted to see how they handled in the snow as I have no experience with these new tires. I have to say that I cannot believe how well the...
Not yet. It definitely would look better with a 2" up front and a 1" in the back. Not sure if I just going to do spacers or a true lift. This is my DD and will only see light trails. I have a TJ crawler for the hard trails. I'll tow it now with the Gladiator vs. driving to the trail now.
Which location was it? I bought mine at Broadway and had a decent experience. I got a rubicon with leather, heated everything, premium sound with larger screen, aux switches, bed liner, tonneu cover, tow package, insulated hardtop, remote start for 51K.
DV8 886 in Bronze. I originally wanted black but the were backordered. I thought the bronze was going to be too overpowering but the pretty subdued. Very nice wheel and looks great IMHO. I also went with 35x12.50R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Wasn't sure about them but I REALLY like them so far...
Shocks should not be your method of controlling up travel. That is the job of the bumpstops. In other words you should have enough bumpstop extension to keep the shocks from over compressing causing damage to them. Control arms allow the axle to move in the arc. The track bar/pan hard bar is...
This makes no sense if you're simply trying to change a tire. The axle needs to go up, not get "unloaded". If you plan on using your high lift to change a tire you will need to strap the axle to the frame before lifting.
The shocks have nothing to do with keeping the axle in the arc of movement. That is the job of the control arms. Shocks are for dampening travel events. Bumpstops don't care about down travel, they limit up travel to keep things from banging into each other. "Most" down travel is limited by the...
