Hey all ?. Work has been keeping me busy but finally got a little break. Hope it’s going well on here!
Took the opportunity to install a hitch on the JLU as I need it for a bike rack with the wife reclaiming the JT. (Something about heated seats and steering wheel…) As well as gave them a bath...
Determine if it’s the 3.5 vs the 4 first. If it’s the little guy my recommendation is replace the upper dash speakers and move the dash to the sound bar.
Also verify it’s not the plastic sound bar rattling on the sport cage. My JLU rattles there at times while my JT never does ??‍♂️
This is already the case with the 2.0t, supposedly it ran a tad too warm in the JT while towing. But this comment will start a pissing match shortly. Regardless if the dynos show the higher torque number and more usable curve.
Can you accelerate through it? If so could be a balance issue. Have had that before, actually my TJ a few months back when I did a rotation. Front end shook like complete DW, a rebalance and all was good.
Was it truly death wobble or a bad shimmy? I was fighting this for a few months on my JLU. Started after swapping a bashed stock stabilizer with a Rough Country cheapy. And only in one spot of road. Finally a buddy gave me his stock one with 80k on it and the shimmy was gone.
Been a while since I have been on here. End of the calendar year prep and some TDYs have kept me occupied. Finally got the lights I got for my birthday installed. Ran a 10ga wire from the battery, yes it’s over kill for these but my plan is to put some power outlets in eventually.
Those are my plans on the JT.
As for the diesel specific fox valving. I have no direct comparison, but the ones I retrofitted to the JLU aren’t super soft as many have claimed the standard rubi ones were on a JL
Been fighting a balance issue since I bought these tires and wheels used. Well last weekend I heard what I thought was beads in conjunction with the wheel weights. Pulled the weights, slightly better. Ordered new beads and went to put the in today. But first vacuum out the old I figured…. It’s...
FWIW both my JL and JT have slightly off paint on the cowls. My assumption has always been they are painted separately as the body is painted beneath them.
looks like a good time. I’m with everyone else that’s not anything I would worry about oil wise.
FWIW I just spent the past 4 weeks chasing a clunk from the front similar to what you described. Turns out the front up shock bolt had backed out or I never fully tightened it after swapping in the...
$1340 through USAA for full coverage with low deductibles, rental car coverage and 20% extra replacement coverage. That’s for the JT, JLU and TJ. Also have renters and high dollar item insurance through them
Everyone gets held up on the trucking industry with diesel. Don’t forget the impact on sea and rail transportation as well. Additionally, should the shortage look to be long term, I would guess government stock piles being grown for national security purposes with the military living off diesel...
