This is the kind of thing that doesn't matter, but will drive you crazy for the rest of time. My Tacoma (like most) leaned hard to the drivers side and it annoyed me until I traded it.
I've been using the hell out of the factory skids on some not terribly advanced rock trails at Rausch and AOAA. Any views from the group on whether the factory skid plates and rails are sufficient, or if something more (full pan?) is required.
I have been waiting on this for maybe 5-10 years, with the many concept teases and rumors. I had a Tacoma that i was quite happy with, so wasn't locked in until I went on the test drive. Checked all the boxes for me, so I pulled the trigger.
I've done it all summer with no issue. I haven't looked up the laws, but given i've driven by a number of small town cops with quotas to fill, as do innumerable Wranglers, i have to believe it's not a problem.
I leave both sets of bolts out and keep the interior hinge stowed. Much faster. I did purchase a Dewalt electric screwdriver, and that makes quick work of the bolts if they are left in.
Damn it, I'm in the range at April 2019, though the VIN search shows nothing. Guess I'll wait and see if I get an October call.
For anyone wondering about the date of mfr, you can find it on your driver side door sill.
In the 45 days or so that I've had the Jeep, I have noticed two annoying issues related to the infotainment system.
The first is random glitching with the backup camera. Seems every few weeks, i'll get the "backup camera not available" message, and a blue screen if i manually try to access it...
