I dont have the pictures but I mounted my antenna on the MOPAR light mount behind my SS3 on the right and left hood area. This is the new style.

On the old unit there was room to mount the light further forward then I put the NMO mount...
There are 2 different KO2. One is E rated and one C rated. My work truck has the LT (C) ones which makes ride nice but always look buldged when loaded.
We put the trail tire on my mothers renegade and they appear great for normal driving and an occasional dirt road or two. I actually went with the KO2 on my Gladiator but in E rating. Stiffer sidewall was night and day towing my trailer. Sadly they have 75K on them and its about time to replace...
I run the Uniden CMX760 in all my jeeps and even my work truck. The mic is about identical to the Midland 275. It works great. I did add an external speaker to all of the jeeps. Work truck its fine. Ive gotten mine for around $100 each time after shopping around. Paired with a decent antenna...
Sure others can comment but a jeep isn't the vehicle to get great comms with. Unless you want an antenna dead center of your hood you won't find the optimal location. Lots of posts on this forum of ideas. Adding aluminum tape under those plastic pieces or the cowl will help. A lip mount on the...
Mine is further forward on the other screw. I'd move it up there if that's the plan. If your trying to talk 50 miles to repeaters and simplex then that won't work well. But for talking to a jeep in front of behind you that's fine.
Depends on use. I run my ghost on side of hood. Never had an issue in my JT or JK with trail comms. On my JK I do have a second UHF radio with a 1/4 wave antenna. Its on a bracket on the rear.
What is your real intendand purpose. If its close by trail comms the MTX 15 watt radio is ideal with the ghost style antenna. Battery is never dead and the mic is on a cord. I run them in all my vehicles. When out of the jeep I use my T600 hand held.
Adding brakes to a trailer isn't a hard task. Now you can get kits for under $2000. When I built our CTC it came in at 1100# empty. I still added brakes for the piece of mind. If you can change a bearing on a trailer you can add brakes.
Thanks for the idea. I was sckeptical to do this on my JT but yesterday did the same. Biggest issue was finding the bolts. Finally found last 2 at TSC (M-12 Size). I added tie points on each corner and also cut a 10x10 hole in the center so i can access underneath. I leave Friday on a 6000 miles...
Im an old school guy and do oil change and tire rotation every 3K. I know I can probably go to 5 but for the price its just to make my brain happy. Our JK doesn't get used much anymore but has had 3K oil changes since 2009 and never had an issue. Now it gets changed annually just casue we dont...
Im in the same boat right now. I have a trip across the US this summer and really want it for that but $600 for one trip seems a bit steep on top off all my other stuff. I have LTE in the truck but I know there will be places that is needed. Still looking at budget myself.
I didn't see the $30 a month plan anywhere for a standalone plan. All references showed in addition to home plan. The $50 plan doesn't seem to care about home.
So thisn morning I got on the site as I have a need for a unit for a short stint this summer. It appears the roam is now available without home service for residential ? I can go thru the entire order process but have not clicked submit yet. Has anyone recently looked at this option. If I can...
