  1. Towing Travel Trailer - Question/help

Good. You went even lighter than I suggested. More margin is always good. I just posted about my experience towing at the limits with my JTR. I suspect I will be RV shopping later this year to downsize my trailer.
  2. Towing Travel Trailer - Question/help

The 2021 Owners manual states the Overland 3.6L Auto with tow package can tow 6000 lbs. Also, all manufacturers will tell you that helper springs/ air bags do not help you tow more.
  3. Towing At The Limits

I have a Lance trailer, model# 1985, that I towed with my Ecodiesel Ram. I’ve wanted a Wrangler for a while, but they can’t tow very much. So, when it came time to replace the Ram I chose a 3.6L V6 Gladiator Rubicon. I considered the Max Tow version but since I’ve always wanted a Rubicon I...
  4. Towing Travel Trailer - Question/help

Did you buy the trailer or choose different? Up front, I think this trailer is too heavy for your Overland. Tow ratings are determined by having one driver tow a base vehicle without cargo up a certain grade at a certain speed at hot ambient temperatures (I don't remember all of the specifics)...
  5. [CLOSED] WINNER ANNOUNCED: DIY Windshield Protection Film Giveaway -- ExoShield ULTRA

I've had my 2023 for only a few months so I have never had to replace it, yet. Today it took 2 hits on the freeway. About 4 months ago I reviewed some YT videos that actually proved these types of products actually do tilt the odds in our favor and help prevent major windshield breaks. This...
  6. What exterior panels are aluminum?

Wrap a magnet in a soft cloth and start testing? At least it can verify whether or not a panel is steel.
  7. Gladiator Glamour Shots

It's first sunset right after I brought it home.
  8. Rock light tapped courtesy lights blink

I have not measured the voltage on that line but I expect it to be 12V. It does not dim while turning off like the dome lights do. You should be able to tap into it easily with the Posi taps that you used.
  9. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I thought I'd try to answer your question since @LWBrew hasn't been seen since Nov 2022. I have a Bestop cover and it is 18.6 inches from the highest rib in the bed to the bottom of the cover's fabric. There is about 17 inches between the rear support rail and the next one further into the...
  10. What Bumper is this?

Grasshopper, I think your Google-fu needs more training. :please::muscle:
  11. Rock light tapped courtesy lights blink

We'd all like to know if that step up converter works. Thanks again for posting the question, because it gave me an opportunity to figure out how I might do it, and that's going to be with the bed light. Good luck!
  12. Test Drove a Gladiator today, five easy questions for you current owners.

Here is a link to see the Window Sticker of your prospective Gladiator. https://researchmaniacs.com/VIN-Number-Lookup/WindowSticker/Jeep.html If it is missing a trailer hitch then I doubt is has the Tow Package. Checking the window sticker can tell you what it was really delivered with. I...
  13. Soft or Hard Tonneau Cover?

I almost bought one of these. This was my favorite hard roll up. I liked the idea of the slots for T-nut based racks and its sleek styling. But the rails extend into the bed a lot and the low profile takes away bed height. The weight was the final negative for me. I could never get an...
  14. Soft or Hard Tonneau Cover?

First I'd like to thank you for opening up my thoughts on the Mopar cover a few months back. I remember you were the one that mentioned how much you liked them. Following that I was able to look at a few at a Jeep event a few weeks later. I like the Bestop cover so far. The corners are...
  15. What’s behind the glove box? Stolen Jeep

I'm wondering if a kill switch isn't as simple as interrupting the Start button circuit with a hidden switch or a jumper wire. I would think that shouldn't cause any computer codes. I already have an aftermarket security system with a hood alarm and an engine disabler. However, that can be...
  16. What’s behind the glove box? Stolen Jeep

Wow. I'm sorry you had to go through that with your family. This makes me feel a little better about going through the trouble of securing my plates with anti-theft screws. I was thinking maybe I was a little too paranoid. But those screws might be just enough to make them go the vehicle...
  17. Soft or Hard Tonneau Cover?

I started this thread months ago to get input on which cover to get for my Gladiator. I decided on a Bestop soft rolling cover with the black twill fabric. My reasoning went this way: I wanted to minimize the weight of the cover. Evey pound cuts into towing and cargo capacity and city MPG...
  18. Rock light tapped courtesy lights blink

Yes, I was aware of the auto off features. I was really thinking of the case where you turn them on and forget to turn them off, or you inadvertently turn them on. After thinking about it, that is is really no worse than it is already with just the bed lights and no rock lights wired to them...
  19. Rock light tapped courtesy lights blink

The only reason I can think of is that they're more likely to be left on without noticing it. But I think if that happened the Jeep would protect itself like it does with all of the lights if you leave them on. Plus you have the dashboard light to tell you the bed lights are on. So maybe this...
  20. Rock light tapped courtesy lights blink

I was thinking that might be the case. For the record, my Gladiator has the factory LED option.
