I agree! It doesn't look like any kind of moisture created by rain. But like I said, they have determined that it is caused by water so they aren't really looking at it potentially being something else. Maybe when I get it towed to another dealership, they'll be able to re-assess at least...
I’m going to take it to another dealership this weekend and see. But yes, the time it’s taking to figure this out is surprising to me. I can’t keep driving work car around for much longer so I’m going to have to figure a solution out soon. We’ll see what happens!
I’m going to try and get it to another dealership and see what they say. I didn’t want to go the lawyer route but as I’m running out of options that may be something to consider as well. Thank you for the advice
Sorry if I implied that Jeep is bad! Not what I’m saying. I guess a better way to word it would be that the current experience I’m having with this incident has not been a good one.
I’m going to try and get it towed somewhere else this weekend and see what happens. As far as the warranty being...
Like I said, i love my truck. But I would seriously think about your decision. If you’re buying a Jeep to do Jeep things, you’re going to get warranty voided and no help. I haven’t done anything crazy with my truck and they’re still voiding my warranty. Just something to think about. I will say...
Yea man I don’t think it’s okay either. BecauseI’ve accumulated dirt under hood, they’re making the assumption that I’ve been submerged/stuck in or driving reckless in water which is not the case. I still don’t really see the “moisture” on the alternator the service man is talking about. I see...
So to update you all, a case was opened and closed the day I called Jeep. Was told to speak to car wash manager or to go back and speak with service personnel again. The lady I spoke also suggested I have the dealership call someone for a second opinion (provided by the dealership that is...
I will 100% use your photos as a comparison, thank you! Hopefully this issue will get resolved soon. I'm not trying to have them void my warrant! I'm being calm with them and haven't argued with the service rep. He has been polite as well. I just don't think my warranty should be voided. We'll...
Good Morning Kate!
I just sent you a private message. I called in yesterday but reached a dead end and it did not appear as if a case was started. Appreciate you taking your time to read this and reach out.
Exactly what I'm thinking. If I saw this before buying the truck, I wouldn't buy it. Because I would buy a Jeep to do Jeep things. If I have to worry about driving in rain or hitting a pothole with water in it, I wouldn't want it.
That is wild! I'm glad it worked out for him. My truck has never seen any mudding/off-roading anywhere near that. The day it broke down, I was literally driving it on a major roadway and it was sunny. The vehicles are designed to handle a lot more than what I've put it through so this blows my mind.
I was stuck on the side of the highway for like 4 hours before it got towed to dealership and it was a hot and sunny day in Florida. When they told me they suspected moisture in the alternator, my mind was blown
I hadn't noticed the bug! That's crazy. Water will for sure find it's way in. So will dirt. Especially after a year. I live in a new neighborhood so construction around here stirs up loose dirt all the time. It's crazy that they are assuming it's been submerged
Yea, I was worried about being "marked" and having any other dealership have access to whatever notes this dealership has already placed on my account. But yea, it's Florida rain, I guess the dealership really does want their money. I'm sure that once alternator is fixed, they will find...
Yea dealer is definitely not working with me. Thanks for the wishes, I hope it can be resolved as well. Love my truck and I love Jeep, I don't want that to change. I also understand that it's a business. BUT it is still mind boggling.
