I wouldn't have someone sit on it to adjust. That would be too much weight IMO. I used 2 x 30lb dumbells ( placed on each corner) which was plenty.

With a 3.6L it should still have a tow rating, below but close to, 7000lbs. Personaly, I wouldn't exceed ~80% of that.
The most negatively effected tow ratings come with the diesels.
