Ok update for today:
I went to the dealership to get face to face answers.
The parts department manager explained than every time they put the order into the system it kicks it out.
I said that my rear shocks have a reservoir, not believing me he went out and look at my truck & ask if it was...
the cost of each rear Fox shock for the Mojave from https://www.allmoparparts.com/
They are listed on the Jeep Gladiator Forum as a sponsor
I hope this helps
Well I called another local dealer and they can order them from their supplier $660 each.
I also looked them up at a this websites sponsor All Mopar Parts.com and I can order them direct for $478 each.
You got to love technology these day… press a few buttons and you can find info others can...
Very interesting that your dealer is able to get Fox shocks and the dealer I went to can not get them.
If the call I made to warranty services confirms that they are indeed available, I may be shopping for a new place to take my Jeep for repair.
Dealership said shocks not available so they can’t order them!
They are going to see if they order them directly from Fox & charge them back to Jeep.
I will believe it when I see it.
I wonder if this will turn into some sort of class action lawsuit…
I just contacted Jeep warranty and they...
I totally agree wit you!
The service writer said that chrysler will see an order that is inactive for a couple weeks and cancel the order
So I’m not sure if the vehicle not being there would be a problem, the RO is still open so I would not think that would be a proble, don’t know really.
I...
Talked to the dealership today and found out that Jeep had canceled their order for the rear shocks.
They reordered the shocks and are checking to see if another dealer has them in stock.
Spoke with the service manager and he will call his district person tomorrow to try to get some answers...
I plan on keeping the old shocks and having them rebuilt to use as backup for when they go bad after the warranty has expired.
We will see if the parts department need to return the old part…shouldn’t need to, but you never know.
This is why I question the quality of the Fox shock…is it a random thing or something every Mojave owner will eventually have to deal with?
With the lack of competitive choices for replacements, unless you lift it, your only options are buying from a dealer or rebuilding what you have.
Before...
I hope you’re right I was thinking about doing some traveling with it before summer and hate the thought of listening to that over a few thousand miles.
Great info! Just not quite the price point that I was looking for WOW!
Oh I’m sure it’s worth every penny, but they are expecting a lift kit to go along with it.
So for now I’ll just put this in the things (not) to do today.
In a way it will give me great satisfaction when they do fix it...
As much as I love all this speculation and can agree with all of it, at the end of the day all I want to do is go to any or all shock makers web sites, punch in Mojave and be given something other than “we don’t have anything to match your description“
Since we are reminiscing of the past, how...
I did check with Metal Cloak to see if they had anything, thinking I could upgrade mine a few pieces at a time, but he said they didn’t have anything that would work.
I will say this about MC a man answered the phone quickly and answered my questions even letting me know about upcoming options...
Since I am dealing with a different dealership I don’t know if they would have checked out another dealers inventory.
At my old dealer my parts guy would have told me if there were any in the country an if he had to request one from Alaska & one from Florida he would have gotten them for me.
I completely understand the build to our specifications & putting it out to the lowest bidder way of doing business, however Fox did put their name on the shock which does not absolve them from any and all blame.
If they felt that the specifications were off would they still have built it...
