Recommended, yes. Mandatory, no. You can add octane boost if needed. The key is to understand your tune and how octane works for you.

I have the Edelbrock on my 2014JKURX (MT) with 5.13s and 37's - also have the Mishimoto oil catch can - as long as you have room for the can, the hose lines should be easy enough on a JT.
