  1. oil filter housing breakage

Sadly, this trend of using plastic for the oil housing has been around for a while now, across the automotive industry. I think they do it on purpose, since eventually that housing will crack and then the dealers can make some money off of repairs. VW and BMW also use plastic, and last I heard...
  2. Jeep’s technology compared to Toyota is stellar

That beeping on lock is customizable for most modern cars. And I bet that Highlander will keep motoring for 100k miles more than any of our new Jeeps. But apples to oranges. I have no inkling to buy any Toyota.
  3. All I Want For Christmas... is 2024 Gladiator pricing

maybe peak for advertised pricing. Anyone with some negotiating skills can still snag a great deal. Get em while they last!

  6. Anyone regretting your saddle/brown leather seats?

All three leather colors look great in the Gladiator. Cant go wrong with saddle, its got a nice classic Argentinean leather look.
  7. Pentastar power increase

Precisely why none of my vehicles have turbos. I prefer NA motors, always have and always will. If I feel an itch for instant acceleration, I will drive the Tesla. If its handling on the twisty roads I want, then I’ll grab the Porsche keys. My gladiator is an offroad truck.
  8. Anyone install Night Vision Camera?

Yea, why not? I must have watched Navy Seals(starring Charlie sheen, John Conor from Terminator and the All State insurance guy) a hundred times and always wanted a thermal scope. Thirty years later, prices finally came down enough so I went and bought one. Skip to 1:10 for the thermal scene...
  9. Any rumor on MSRP discounts for December?

I think you’ll be okay and still get that good deal in December. I also opted for the Mojave and am glad I did. The factory look and ride are an immense improvement over the two previous jeeps I’ve had. I considered waiting for a ā€˜24 but the only real change I saw was the new navi screen that...
  10. Any rumor on MSRP discounts for December?

Therein lies the dilemma. If you wait a little longer, you may snatch a better deal. But that Gladiator with the options and color you want may already be sold to another deal seeker by then. So, is that a risk you are willing to take, to possibly save another $500 or $1k and settle for a...
  11. Pentastar 6 vs the Wrangler 2.0

Actually, he said the opposite. Lithium mining is sustainable but currently, the limiting factor is refining. And it appears that the world’s largest lithium deposit was just discovered in Nevada...
  12. Mojave Harsh Ride after OEM Steel Bumper and Warn Zeon S10 install

As much as I'd like a steel bumper on my stock suspension Mojave, this is why I am sticking with the factory plastic one. If I do upgrade, It'll probably be an aluminum bumper.
  13. Unfortunately I totalled my gladiator, can't believe airbags didn't go off

…and hopefully in your case, experience. Never swerve for deer

  15. Not impressed with Gladiator performance in snow

That’s my theory as well. For traction in snow/mud, get cookie cutters
  16. DEAL OVER - Walmart Tire Deals 2023 - They're at it again... again

The four patches of rubber are all that keep my $62k rig on the road. So I wouldn't skimp out on tires, but thanks.
  17. Manual Shift option wears out transmission

I guess my point is, if I wanted that type of driving experience, then I would have bought an MT. But I paid $2,000 for an 850RE. On my normal day to day drive, I’ll just stick with the Gas and Brake pedals and let the computer decide on all the shift points.
  18. Manual Shift option wears out transmission

I own multiple vehicles with manual transmissions. Whenever I downshift, I always rev match first. During spirited drives, I may even heel/toe when slowing for a curve. Barring necessity(due to a steep downgrade as a few have stated), I would never use the manual mode on an automatic for normal...
  19. Jeep Gladiator #1 Mid-sized Truck ???

JD powers tied the Gladiator and Ranger #1 for best initial quality. Or… if you look at the Gladiator promo page, it shows that it is best in class on a number of factors(Towing, payload, brake size, rear seat legroom, etc) https://www.jeep.com/2023/competitive-compare/gladiator.html
  20. Question on my gladiator

Why are you using 4L and lockers on high traction surfaces? You’ll cause damage, binding it up
