Cody,
After putting together/organizing countless wheeling trips and get togethers/meet & greets over the years, my advice is to pick a date and location and run with it.
Typically, a couple weeks in advance works well for a M&G, and a month works well for a wheeling trip.
Whoever shows...
Being a 35+ year San Diego resident, SoCal desert crawler, I can understand your desire to get a better crawl ratio. My playground for many years was Johnson Valley/Hammers trails, which I built my YJ for.
You are going to want to take a look at the tech data here in these links to help get you...
Received the spacer kit yesterday minus the ProCal, along with a couple other items piled in front of the garage.
I plan on installing it with a buddy in my garage soon.
We use to rough set them at ~1/16" of dead center and call it good. Our customers would sometimes take their rig to an alignment shop afterwards but not always, especially if it was a dedicated trail/race rig.
I went ahead and pulled the plug on a set of 5 that should be ready for pickup on Friday.
Ordered a lift, winch and front bumper last week that should also arrive this Friday according to tracking.
Once the tires and everything else are installed, I'll consider regearing and locking the front...
I know what you mean and understand your situation.
I'm an east coast transplant from SoCal. I use to build Jeeps fulltime for a while. Perhaps you know mrblaine (Blaine Johnson), he's one of the guys I built Jeeps with. He ownes Black Magic Brakes and use to do work for Gerald (Savvy Offroad)...
Thanks for yours as well. :fist bump:
My Dad was Navy too. He retired in '73 (retired for 48+ years  ) and recently moved in with me at 86 years young. He served in the Korean War and was part of a SEAL Team in the Vietnam War stationed on a riverboat on the Mekong Delta. Talk about an old...
Has anyone put a Baja Boss A/T 37x12.50x17 underneath for their spare?
Thinking about doing so if it'll fit on my stock Mojave wheel as a full sized spare underneath.
Lookin' good.
Having done several TJ/LJ/YJ 1 ton swaps when I use to build Jeeps fulltime for a living, I know they can get quite involved - have you decided which route you'd like to go for steering/hydro assist etc?
Nice! My younger son spent 5 years in HI while in the Navy.
I purchased my '91 YJ in late '95 in San Diego at a Volvo stealership down on Mile-of-Thieves in National City. It was cherry at the time. I was an Petty Officer 1st Class (E-6) in the Navy stationed aboard my second ship (USS...
Hi folks, I just stumbled across this thread and the above peaked my interest.
I'm a SoCal Jeeper transplant where my San Diego CA home was often the meet up/mod design/ install place on many occasions when we weren't out wheeling.
I live down south in St. Mary's county near the NAS Patuxent...
Having not installed this kit before - could you explain in detail what prohibits using the AEV mount?
I see the ~1/4" difference in detail from the axle tube to the shock mount hole.
Personally, I'd cut the factory bracket off the axle tube, fabricate my own bracket and weld that on.
Shock...
I spoke to a couple AEV vendors over the last three weeks and cruised several websites. Nobody seems to have the Mojave kit in stock that I have seen. One vendor mentioned getting some in within a day or so & that he *might* have a few that weren't spoken for. He had several pre-orders already...
Justin, hopefully it's GTG. ?
I built Jeeps & buggy rock crawlers (think Johnson Valley/Hammers trails) for a living up until a few years ago. We often found with the ones that flexed a good deal, we needed to dial-in things so that tires didn't rub.
