Thx everyone. There was substantial mud at the bottom of the crossing and loose sand on the incline. Not enough traction but perhaps at 25 psi I still had too much pressure (I am totally new to this thing). Boards and lots of wood/brush debris plus removing the mud from the tire tread helped...
