Got a new Rubicon EcoDiesel in October and love the truck... except for a really annoying roof leak. The dealer has replaced the freedom panels and had LeakPro come out twice to work on the weatherstripping. Nothing helped. Then, the dealer replaced the header panel, and still no help. It does...
I have a little over 1000 miles on a Gladiator Rubicon EcoDiesel. It may blow up on me tomorrow but the past 1000 miles have been great. The performance and cool factor blow the doors off the gasser.
Thank you! Of course, I’d be thrilled if payload/towing were greater. But, for me it’ll do just fine. It’s a fun and cool daily driver and if I need to pull a small trailer, etc I will be just fine. However, I do understand the let down others feel. Maybe with Gladiator generation 2 they will be...
Agreed. The EcoDiesel is the Gladiator’s high performance engine. This comes at a trade off to payload. Still, the 932 lbs for the Rubicon trim is respectable. Check out the same scenario for the 2020 F150. What I don’t understand is the constant let down others express about the towing...
So, just a quick update. The dealer is going to replace the leaking freedom top with a new one. The damage does look to be a manufacturing defect. There is no chipping or cracking in the paint and the splintered areas have paint on them. Pretty easy to see in person.
Most of my fuses were...
Dealership is going to replace that freedom top with a new one. Thank you for the checklist! I have gone over it and my truck and everything is good to go.
I thought so too at first. But, there’s no cracking or flaking in the paint. And, there’s paint on the splintered parts. Looks to me like it was painted that way. Either way, the dealership is aware and is going to replace with a new piece.
I'm new to the forum and have really enjoyed perusing the threads while awaiting the delivery of my EcoDiesel Gladiator Rubicon. I ordered mine from Champion of Decatur, Alabama on July 9 and took delivery this past Thursday, October 8. Kevin Allison, the GM at Champion, is a family friend and I...
No comparison in my opinion. The diesel is in a whole different league. I'm going to post my initial impressions over the past 500 miles later today with some issues I've had so far. Overall, LOVE the truck! The diesel is amazing and there's torque for days. Seat of the pants feeling is...
I thought that might have been the case the first time. But, the other two times the road was perfectly flat interstate. I’m going to check the fuses this morning and then go from there.
Yes, I’ve read that too. I’ll try that first thing in the morning. Other than this, the ecodiesel drives amazing. I’ve got some seat time in the gasser and this one has an entirely different character in my opinion. Greatly ups the cool factor.
Well, I heard from the dealer today on the buzzing sound after engine shutdown. I was told there was an internal FCA bulletin about this and it’s a normal ecodiesel turbo breakin noise regarding the spooling of the turbo. They told me it should go away sometime between 500-1000 miles. Not...
Hello, new to the forum and just took delivery of a fully loaded Ecodiesel Rubicon. Same noise. I took a video of it and sent to GM at dealership who is a personal friend. Bringing into service first thing tomorrow to see if it's normal or if there's an issue. Will post update as soon as I...
