Battery health is something we watch closely so I install battery monitors...
Congrats on your Gladiator!
I wanted a Willy's Sport when I got my sport a couple of months ago, but there was not a single manual Willy's sport in the state of Florida at the time and I had 99,600 miles on my trade in and couldn't wait. Now I am working on adding the Willy's extras via...
Unless you have a separate isolated voltage meter you are seeing the alternator voltage while the engine is running. If you are using the dash gauges then go to "run" without starting the motor and anything above 12.1 volts is good, 11.7 - 11.9 is time to look at a new battery. With the engine...
First electrical upgrade - I added a hardwire kit for my radar detector and powered it using a premade splitter.

Added a bed cover so I can carry things in the bed and keep them mostly dry. Got a soft bed cover for now. Will be getting a DiamondBack later - have used them before and love them.

Did a couple of simple light upgrades:
Replaced DRL bulbs with LED (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W7HVS57)
Replaced front turn signal bulbs with LED (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RNCBD72)
Here is a picture of the DRLs with only the driver side changed. Huge difference in...
Bought my first Jeep - 2022 Gladiator Sport on March 25th.
On a tight budget so I started bare bones and will add lots of upgrades as possible. I have been doing custom work on 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks for years and I am excited to see what I can create. I do a lot of electrical work so...
This is a simplified post because I only have 2 minutes, but I did this in some commercial trucks last year. Get an automotive DVR, monitor, and 4 cameras. You get full 360 degree viewing and you can mount the cameras so you can see the ground as well as what is in front of you. The cameras in...
In a Sport you have to remove the plastic that is behind the seat to see them. The cable can be ran through the seat anchor holes or you can remove the side trim and go along under the door. If you are under the Jeep and feel the back of the cab on the passenger side you will feel the opening...
One quick add - an electrical engineer can testify that if your accessories had fuses then the fuses would have if there was a short so it couldn't be your fault.
With the computer that is in the JT the two main ways to get an electrical fire like that is a positive wire with no fuse or a...
Your attorney/insurance company/whomever needs to talk to an electrical engineer. This is a simple case of the dual battery connections not being right. $10 says the ground was loose on one of them. If it was a short the fuse box and computer would have shut stuff down. They don't put...
How to get power into the cab for switch and back out for lights, compressors, etc is a constant topic and there seems to be a thousand threads on how to route the wires.
This is less of a questions and more of a post that I hope helps people. For wiring any DC item you have a positive wire...
Buy a pack of these and just swap bulbs: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W7HVS57/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I did it on my 22 Sport and it was fast, easy and looks great.
If you want to use the harness because it is wrapped just cut the wires to remove the relay and splice the wires.
The white wire is just for the harness switch so you don't need it or the switch if you aren't using the harness relay.
Nilites makes a harness that I have used which is similar. I...
This is an older thread, but I know there might be others like myself that aren't trying to justify their purchase so much as trying to decide what to buy stock vs add later. I looked at a Mojave as well as a Rubicon. The reality is that my budget could not swing either one, my only real option...
If you get a pure sine inverter you will need a 0/0 primary to get from the battery to the inverter for a 1200 w, 2 0/0 if you go any larger than 1200. I put a 2400 pure sine in my previous truck and took a lot of trial and error to find the amount of copper needed to not get an error.
That sounds like they can't get it to misfire again and are extra cautious. If someone cleared the computer before identifying the issue they may be trying to get it to happen again. It could have been something as simple as a loose wire that they fixed by unplugging/replugging and now they...
I have a '22 Sport and my steering has not been an issue. I have 5,000+ miles with most of those being interstate miles. I tend to drive a bit faster than others, even when the governor kicks in there is still no problem. I have heard lots of problems from Rubicon owners and almost didn't get a...
