It looks like a sweet ride. I cannot really comment on the financial part because you have to be happy with what you choose and it is never always price. I just Love driving my Jeep. My family makes fun of me. If there is a big shoulder on the road, I am half in the dirt.
If you have time to wait, check out the forum, Facebook Marketplace, eBay.
I got a Rugged Ridge Armis Hard Folding Tonneau Cover brand new in the box for $600 of Facebook Marketplace. I installed it in 45 minutes. Easy. No leaks even in pressure wash car washes. Very happy after two months. I...
Glad you found it—way easier than replacing it. To be honest, I "lost" my connector when I first took the top off. I looked everywhere before I remembered that I had tucked it back under the frame. (I blame the beer). I would have never found it if I wasn’t the one that put it there.
I am...
I just bought this exact set-up off Facebook Marketplace for about the same price. I installed it by myself in less than an hour. After a couple of days driving on the beach to fish, I did a high pressure automated car wash to clean the underside. I figured that I would get some water in the bed...
OP, same here. I didn’t care about a bigger screen and, when I could get an MSRP Mojave for over $8K less, I pulled the trigger. It had what I wanted and no extras on the lot so I have been in since late June. You probably got a better deal with patience so congrats!! I have had company cars for...
My wait was 40 years (14 to 54) bit totally worth it. I have had mine since June and make any excuse I can to go drive it.
The advice above about taking the mods slow is solid. I have a list longer than my arm but it keeps changing which is part of the fun. I am starting with the "wife...
A lot of great stuff in here (or, as my wife calls it, "Jeep Porn"). Looking like flaps and rails will be needed to avoid sandblasting the inside of my Jeep. Thank you for the thoughts and advice.
I live on Emerald Isle. The picture in my profile was taken on South Core Banks north near the new inlet. The beach is open there year-round. Emerald Isle is open September 15 - April 30 which is the best time for fishing anyway. Oddly, the sand has proven deeper here than on the Outer Banks...
My Jeep gets a lot of sand sprayed up on the doors when I drive on the beach or on wet streets. While it looks cool now, I foresee a problem. I will soon have a garage for my Jeep and will likely take the doors off for good which means all that sand will come in the cab. My wife can get in the...
I am not into ducks but that is pretty rude. Why not just re-duck someone else if you don’t want it? That is my plan—find it a good and loving home. It may make someone happy.
Those were the temps I was running in deep sand, sea level, 86 degree day. I don’t remember my coolant getting that high but I was around 230-235 for all of them which was what worried me.
I guess I should have just asked, "At what temperature should I start to worry?” I guess that is all that...
My first purchase for my Jeep for the same reasons you mentioned. You can zipper up the sides if your doors are off or hook the other side to your front headrests for the hammock. I tuck the sides and front under the backseat and it fits perfect since it was made for Wrangler/Gladiator.
As I...
I was thinking the same—needed numbers and changes. I couldn’t remember exactly so I didn’t want to just toss out numbers. They were 30 degrees higher than 2H on a road which makes sense with more air cooling the engine that is not working as hard. I have been taking my 82 year old father...
I had my Mojave up on a national seashore a few times in July. The speed limit is 25 but I got it to 45 in 4H after I was several miles from anyone else. It was so smooth at that speed and I could have easily pushed higher except for fear of being thrown under a federal jail.
I am just getting...
Newish Jeep owner and apologies if this topic has been beaten up before—I searched and didn’t find a thread. Quick question about normal coolant, oil, and transmission temperatures. When I take my Jeep into the sand, all three rise quickly which is fine—I figure the engine is working harder. If...
That was what I was going to suggest. It seems like a great solution because 1) it dampens noise and 2) it makes the inside actually waterproof since the carpet is gone. I get sand in my Jeep constantly so that will be a huge plus to lose the carpet.
Of course there is also 3) it isn’t cheap...
