Totally agree. That's why I took care of it myself. Saturday at the dealership for 3 months...waiting on parts. Did my research and took the dash out (10 Phillips screws), sent the bad screen to United Radio. They fixed it, sent it back, and all in all it cost me $229 and about 6 days...
The recall is for the 3.5" screen. That part is correct. And Rubicons have a 7" screen. The "trash talk" is because there have been NUMEROUS accounts of the 7" screens going out too, yet not enough to warrant a recall, I guess. So we're stuck with fixing it ourselves, which can be fairly...
My situation exactly. 20 Rubicon with 7" cluster and 8.4" infotainment screen. Spent 3 months at the dealership with no help. "Waiting on parts." Picked it up and took the dash out myself. Really easy actually. Just gotta have some finesse with some of the trim clips. Sent it off to United Radio...
I was going to call Mopar tomorrow. I just found out about the recall today. Looked on a few other threads here when it happened. Pulled and looked at the 2 fuses on the circuit, and tried a hard reset with disconnecting the battery. No luck with anything. I'll post back when I find out...
Can't get it in to the dealership until January 9. No idea what it's going to run me. But I'll be keeping my paperwork and receipts (as I always do), just in case it becomes part of this recall, or a separate one. Expecting the worst... hoping for the best.
Still runs fine. Still have speedometer, tach, turn signal indicators and headlight/fog light indicators. Just don't have fuel level, temperature, tire pressure, battery, fuel mileage, miles driven. If I drive it, I just fill it every few days because I have no idea how far I've driven.
My 7" screen went out Saturday Dec 21. 5 years old and only 20.5k miles. Now I have no fuel level, miles (of any kind), tire pressure, temperature, etc. You know the deal. Can't get it in to the dealer until January 9.
Super gorgeous in the Sarge! Would have loved to have this as a color option last year. Congratulations on a beautiful truck! Tri-City is hands down the best!
Ordered from Tri City and took delivery 12/23/19. My Sting Gray Rubicon has just barely broke 5k on the ticker. Seriously contemplating a trade for a Snazzberry Ruby of the same build. Nothing wrong with mine. I absolutely love it! Just wish that deep red was available last year.
I would love to see Sarge green. Saw a JL the other day in Sarge and loved it. Would have had a real hard time deciding if Hella Yella, Mojito, Ocean Blue, or if a dark forest green was available.
Have you seen the Metallic Green on the Trailhawk and SRT models? I ALMOST ordered a Trailhawk in the green, but I was really on the fence about it. It's just a throw-away color Chrysler had on the 300's from 2017-18. I really wanted to like it, but couldn't get past the metallic lima bean look...
