Did not know they all switched to platic... Guess I'm just used to older vehicles. This is the first post 06 vehicle I've ever owned. Good to know! I'll stop hating on the plastic then.
But yeah did the math, it's cheaper to get the centerforce clutch anyhow. So here I come to join the club!
My running guess is maybe a bit of mud got in the bearing so it caused extra friction whenever it was moving and siezed it eventually with melted plastic? But I'll never really know
So apparently the clutch slipping (because they're dog poop) caused the bearing to melt. So it's not warranty. I never rid the clutch and was always in a lower than needed gear because i knew these clutches were bad....
? Oh god. That's my plan after this. Hopefully it gets warrantied so I can ride out a waitime for a dualforce 2. If not I guess throwing a stock back in it for another 2 years ??♀️?
I've had mine for about 2 weeks, and thought I'd chine in on the waterproofness of these! Daily showers and thunderstorms for about 2/3 of that time, and not a single drop inside! That was my biggest fear for having this, as I want to run it as a bikini top most of the summer!
As far as I read it's just the clutch plates that have the shorter warranty, not the whole assembly. Gave them a call to help clarify for me. Thanks again!
So I have a 2020 JT, manual. I've gone through all the recalls and tsbs for the clutch.
The throw out bearing started making ungodly amounts of noise about a week ago, so I made an appointment and took it in. It got pushed back to today, and the clutch wouldn't release! They had to push it into...
Noted thanks! Doesn't bother me too much, got used to that same feeling of "unsteadyness" driving in northern alberta. Just want to make sure I get all the free repairs/fixes I can so I can make this thing last haha
I'm still having wandering issues and my dealer did a TSB. Ita actually worse now than it was before. So question, is the "steering gear" the same as the steering box replacement to a steel one? Or did I get shamed and should go to a diffrent dealer to get the proper TSB done?
I've wheeled the gladiator in deep snow off-road and on road after a big storm. 4H with TC off is the best bet when you're in the thick of it on side streets, and tc on when on the highways. No sand in the back or anything.
I did find the trucks loves to kind of skip itself a lot in the snow...
Better lines just means not following everyone else who is on 35s and 2"lift ? that's no fun! Oh the weather stripping would be a nice touch! Thanks for the idea!
When I was out wheeling in the snow. My bumper kept getting absulutley jam packed with snow (esspecialy after reversing, after taking stupid lines at things). So I just cut some steel and bolted it in place to stop it. Thoughts and opinions?
