For me the gas version makes the most sense. I don't do heavy towing and it's more of a daily commuter. The initial cost of the diesel version plus the fact that diesel costs more than unleaded here negates any mileage benefits. Plus I prefer the 6 speed anyway. I still have bad memories of my...
I'm hoping the rear looks better without camouflage. Way to much length behind the rear axle. I am afraid that with small tires it may look a little lame. The AEV Brutes were all on big tires so the proportions looked tougher.
This guy is such an elitist prick. I'm glad he is on his way out. I've been predicting that the JT is going to be $3-5k more than the JL and this seems to prove my point. Maybe the next FCA boss will have some sense.
I think initially it will sell like wildfire because of the novelty. But if JLU prices are an indication, this is going to be as expensive as a full size pickup and maybe cross shopped against the Ram or F150.
I'm hoping the JT is priced at the same level as a comparable Tacoma, Colorado or Canyon. There is going to be some more competition with the Ranger coming back too. A $32,000 base price would be nice but we still have a long time before we get any concrete pricing information.
Since the "leak" showing a $30,445 price for a JLU Sport, then let's say an additional $3k for the JT makes a $33,500 guess plus $1095 delivery, makes roughly $34,595 as the base price. Yes I'm worried about the price.
I don't foresee the Chief making it into production. With federal crash testing and pedestrian safety regulations it would be costly to make a special edition with a new front end/hood. Plus I think it will be a couple of years before demand slows down for the regular JT and they are sitting on...
