Reluctantly add me into the rear window leak club. Been a dry summer and it now just began to rain here in the PNW and I noticed some water Weds. confirmed it today after last nights rain. Earliest appointment w/ the dealer is middle of Nov.
Disappointingly I have to remove my RLD canopy...
Your rig looks like mine:) you have good taste:)
Ive had good luck w/ mine, though also witnessed rust on the hung bolts too.
I installed my EZ Rec Rack base for my kayaks
As for likes- strength of the canopy
- access- door size makes for great convenience
- air flow is fine for my bird dog w/ the windows I have
- quality of build
dislikes- locks have frozen on me
- condensation...
@dutch7 - I got my RLD last November (21) and love it. I installed a EZ Rec Rack to carry our kayaks.
the side doors size are very convenient for accessing stuff in the back of the bed
While not cheap, Iāve been completely happy with mine.
For me the gasser is fine. My mileage is trending ~22mpg.
my gladiator is stock except for the RLD canopy, step rails and seat cover.
this rig does everything I want and is more nimble than my Ram 1500 crew cab I had previously.
I briefly considered a diesel, but for my needs, the cost...
For me, EV isnāt a viable solution, until charging becomes more available and charging is quicker or same time spent filling my tank.
Iām concerned that the push for EV isnāt supported by the current electrical grid- think Calif brown/ black outs.
Iām intrigued by the hydrogen possibilities...
I had similar problem, getting rear ended after 45 days of ownership. Was glad the replacement parts were readily available.
Of course it was an uninsured motorist too.
Congrats- I have a 21 Gladiator sport s with the max tow & been loving it. Added a RLD canopy, set rails, seat covers and a dead pedal- suits my needs for bird hunting perfectly.
While I awaited my canopy, I secured my dogs crate using carabiners to the side rail. I also had a insulated crate cover in case I went to the mountains Or if the weather was bad when I hunted.
with the canopy, I still have the dog in the crate secured in similar fashion. As I was rear ended...
Nothing special- took the wife to Long Beach WA for an extended Valentineās Day weekend and today took my Brittany and hunting buddy to a preserve and hunted some birds. Gladiator served well in both trips.
I went thru this recently and like another here, went with RLD. Am happy with it this far, but like others, had to wait ~4 months.
I enjoy the flexibility of the side and rear opening, the rack for my ez rack. The comments about condensation is correct.
I too use it for for my dog, with bird...
I also installed a quatratec dead pedal. Very simple to install. Needed to adjust the length from the 1st to the 3rd bolt holes to be comfortable for me..
Installed the quadratec dead pedal my wife ordered for me as a Christmas gif in Oct 21- arrived todayā¦ā¦.
that said, I do like it and it was easy to install. May need to adjust it, weāll see.
The drop down front window is good for cleaning the area between the cab and canopy- especially nice feature in the PNW where the dampness has a habit of growing green grunge in dark places- something to consider.
I went with a RLD canopy and am very happy with it thus far. It too has the...
