  1. Maximus Trip to the Rubicon

Yeah - Those Samurais didn't get the respect they deserved, but could put many larger rigs to shame on many trails and obstacles. When we ran the Rubicon, our group carefully identified key parts - axle shafts, U-joints, other drive train parts common to our group's Jeep vehicles etc. and...
  2. Maximus Trip to the Rubicon

Enjoy those ALL those memories and experiences. Certainly worthy of ALL the effort you put into your trip and follow-on mech recovery efforts. Enjoyed yours share, brought back some great memories of that trail. Thanks, and thanks also to those who work so hard to maintain that special trail...
  3. Kenda Klever AT2 tread separation

The Kenda MT2s look GREAT on a Gladiator! We went with the Kenda RT (mid-way between AT and MT) for lower highway tire noise considerations. Recently had a set of Cooper Discoverer MTRs on a 2017 JKUR RECON - they got amazingly LOUD towards the end of tread life.
  4. Wolfbox G900 TriPro install & review with pictures.

The Wolfbox G900TriPro is a nice unit with multi-cameras, including a Trail Cam-like view, and many features. IMO theft is relatively unlikely because the auxiliary cameras that make the full set, would be hard to quickly remove undamaged since they are wired and routed throughout the vehicle...

Great "MacGyver project." 👍 👍 👍 We've had great success adding similar mirror based Digital Video Recorder (DVR) cameras to older vehicles with these clamp-on mirror DVR systems with forward and rear cameras. Most vehicles have internal center rear view mirrors so it's a normal/natural...
  6. Name this winch bumper.

Uh Oh, $450 "Clearance Price" Keeping that JT a long time? If so "...need one - better get one" for the parts bin... - said the old logistics/sustainment guy! Not cheap, but not avail (later) could be worse... If not, don't worry be happy... We have (massive) Ranch Hand Legend...

That may be a good thing. Eventually, I'd hope for a possible repatriation of the brand. Anything is possible. Stellantis appears to has too many brands (14), and within those brands, generally few individual model offerings. Jeep however, is not an example of that. One of the biggest...
  8. Mickey thompson or Kenda klever rt?

You're correct on the prices. I did see the Kenda Klevers at $229 each shipped last week. Reassuring to see your mileage numbers/ride assessment. Like the basic, utilitarian look, in your steelie wheel photos. BTW we have a set of trail magnets for the wife's (steel) 2017 JKUR Recon...
  9. Mickey thompson or Kenda klever rt?

Both are good tires. We typically go for best value since we have several vehicles, and need to spread out the "tire investments" further than most. Our 33x12.50R15 Patagonia MT's on the CJ5 have been great. Just mounted some 35x12.50R17 Patagonia MT02's on a 2017 JKUR Recon.
  10. Introductions & Welcome Thread 👋

Black wheel nuts are easily located changed. Just to be sure to get correct thread/pitch for the JT/JLs (M14x1.5). I'd add some security nuts of same spec for some low-level wheel/tire security while you're at it. Welcome to the forum!
  11. Gladiator Forum

93civej1 Roger All your comments... We're long-time Jeep owners, only recent to Gladiators, so have been on Jeep/offroad/4WD forums for decades this one only recently... Technologies change/advance, and Social Media trends continually evolve. Having an extensive IT background thus no...

FYI --- For anyone interested in the Kenda Klever RT 35x1050R17 "pizza cutters" suitable for JT/JL 7" wide wheels, there was a recent $42 /tire price drop to $229.26 each drop shipped, pre-tax price, via Simple Tire on eBay or Walmart.com https://www.ebay.com/itm/383657290066
  13. Auto Start/Stop to be removed says EPA chief

Civil discourse is good. Exchange of info is good. Speaking for myself, based upon my career backgrounds, in this specific case logistics and sustainment, I've learned to seek simplicity, reliability, and economy. The rare elegant solution is greatly appreciated when it presents itself...
  14. Auto Start/Stop to be removed says EPA chief

Yes good old K.I.S.S. --- Modern vehicles have too many electronic related parasitic/phantom loads to be kind to batteries and charging systems. All the processors, sensors, network connections and communications require power. So let us add rodents to the wiring harness/connector horror mix...
  15. Who Will Buy CJDR?

Yes. Selecting the right pricing strategy is key to boosting profitability and market share. So no one is confused about my post, I did not/would not, quote the "Rivian loses 30k on every truck it sells" --- that's headline click bait as you say. However at some point, you have to cover...
  16. Auto Start/Stop to be removed says EPA chief

Wow lots of activity here today. Must be Friday??? 100% Keys almost always work. Not a fan of key fobs or automobile start buttons (although older aircraft had start buttons). Laziness is a central and primary affliction of the human condition avoid it for success (humor, or maybe not) ...
  17. Auto Start/Stop to be removed says EPA chief

TY for that clarification, I missed that in my reads of this thread. Problem is currently that is no longer the case here with the new Gladiators/Wranglers. Not intending to aggravate ANY forum moderators - they provide a necessary function, I have an often shared, often used, often...
  18. Auto Start/Stop to be removed says EPA chief

Charles - Thank you for posting for this informative Pentastar V-6 engine development/historical timeline. We have owned several versions this engine, also the venerable 4.0 inline 6 you mentioned. BTW, and all this time I thought a PUG was a dog (humor). As an old loggie, and former aviator...
  19. Who Will Buy CJDR?

It's encouraging to see so many folks engage in "higher level thought" on issues beyond day-to-day thoughts. Tradition and history are things that are infrequently discussed these days... said the old military veteran(s)... Posting this with the hope this forum thread from late 2004 stays...
  20. Mickey thompson or Kenda klever rt?

What wheels did you use w/your 35x12.50/17 Kenda Klever RT tires? Running mostly out in western USA the RTs have been fine for us and dial back the "MT audio" a bit on the highway. The MTs and RTs are understandably sketchier than ATs in snow/ice country up north, and that the narrower tires...
