  1. Locker options for Sport

Not Gladiator specific, but I recall reading forums for past model years and the consensus was that it was significantly cheaper to buy/install ARB in the front/rear than have dealers install OEM locker components.
  2. Locker options for Sport

Aftermarket will definitely catch up, there's too many Gladiator Sport owners out there that want lockers but don't want to pay the $10k + premium for the Rubicon..
  3. Something I've always wanted to do...(probably illegal)

While I think it would have a cool "shock" factor to it, I suspect it would get old after a little bit. I imagine a lot of people would be staring constantly, trying to talk to you, etc... For some that might not be a bad thing, but I personally would get sick of it real quick.
  4. Locker options for Sport

I'm sure you'll receive more knowledgeable comments from other posters, but here was what I was thinking of doing should I end up with a non-max tow Sport instead of a Rubicon like I'm planning on. ARB in the rear (pricey), but then adding one of the many "lunchbox" style lockers to the front...
  5. Careers

Police Officer. I used to have a '16 F150 on 35's and I fit in quite well in the work parking lot. Need the Gladiator on bigger tires so I fit in again :)
  6. GOBI Gladiator JT Club

    That looks fantastic!
  7. Laser eye surgery; What are your thoughts!

I had LASIK done in 2017. Took about 15 minutes total. Was it worth it? 100% yes. Would I do it again? Not a chance in hell. I'm a complete sissy when it comes to anything with my eyes, to the point I couldn't put contacts in. Vision 3 years later is still better than 20/20, so even if my eyes...
  8. skid plate worth it?

I hope that is correct, I've seen a couple different posts indicating their non-Rubicon JTs had no skid plates whatsoever. I forgot to look under the one I test drove earlier this month. It's probably not even something I'd need given how tame the trails are around here in Wisconsin (almost...
  9. skid plate worth it?

Skid plates are something I'm mulling over for my future Gladiator purchase. I'll be in the market for a Sport, which to my understanding comes with no skid plates whatsoever. Disappointing, considering you can get a brand new Ranger FX4 for about $28k now with full factory skid plates and...
  10. Sport vs Rubicon if No Rock Crawling

My thoughts have always been this when trying to decide whether or not to buy a base model, or splurge for higher optioned vehicles; Can I modify it to meet or exceed my needs for less than factory costs? I bought an XL F150 FX4 rather than an XLT or Lariat because I knew I could buy better...
  11. What is your Jeep History?

1991 Cherokee XJ - sold with 270k 2007 Liberty - acquired from a family member, totaled by a sibling who was borrowing it 1996 Grand Cherokee - still driving with 262k If I could go buy a factory new ZJ Cherokee I would, but I also want the utility of a truck bed so the Gladiator is a perfect...
  12. Overland Wheel/Tire upgrade combo suggestions

I think you'll be very pleased with the DuraTracs, our local EMS uses them on all of their vehicles to get through our Wisconsin winters. I've seen their little Ford Escapes with DuraTracs get through snow that my coworker's F150 can't for lack of traction.
  13. Installed Daystar 1.5" Leveling Kit, now have rubbing

Does Daystar recommend an alignment after install? I know that when I leveled my F150 (apples to oranges, I know) it seemed to "suck" my OEM wheels inward a little more after the truck was raised. Once I got it aligned my truck looked and drove better.
  14. Overland Wheel/Tire upgrade combo suggestions

I'm currently running Terra Grappler G2s on my Range Rover, had them for 18k so far. Very quiet, decent on mild terrain, but they are possibly the worst AT tire I've ever run in winter. If I don't brake 3x earlier for any turn I want, I'll slide right past the turn if the roads are cold/wet, or...
  15. Overland with 34s

I understand the point of rake in regards to towing, but the OP is also talking about going to larger tires and lifting it, two things not commonly associated with people that are buying a truck primarily to tow.. Those people also likely aren't looking at Gladiators when you can find a full...
  16. Overland with 34s

What's the reasoning behind this? I've leveled every truck I've ever owned, gains clearance for larger tires up front, gets rid of rake, and has never negatively affected ride quality while costing 1/8 what it would it lift a truck the same height with a full front/rear lift kit.
  17. Brutal Review of Ford Ranger

I test drove a Ranger XLT about a week after testing a Gladiator. Ranger XLT - $35,800 out the door price Gladiator - $39,xxx out the door price Now, maybe I just have low standards for vehicles, (some recent vehicles include an 07 Range Rover Sport, heavily modified '16 F150, my beloved 96...
  18. What rims are these?

Another thing to consider is that I imagine that they'd be a complete PITA to clean, given the multitude of fake bolts and solid design, making the back of the wheels (where mud is likely going to be packed tight) very difficult to get clean.
