Estimated delivery for me is now mid-July, this is getting pretty ridiculous -- it'll be over double the quoted time if the new delivery date holds. Wish I had ordered it sooner but I just didn't have the cash for it at the time, alas. Hope they can work out whatever logistics issues they're...
Ordered mine on 3/1, contacted the local dealer for an update on 5/10, and at that time was told I was likely looking at 6/19 for it shipping. Hopefully seeing it by the end of this month!
I ordered a CX Classic on March 1st and was quoted 8-10 weeks, pinged them for an update earlier this week and it's sounding more like mid-June for shipping on mine, anyway. Looking forward to it, even if the delay is a little disappointing.
Took a trip from MD to MI back in December (about ~600ish miles each way), and a couple trips from MD to the Poconos (about ~230 miles each way)... I've made the same trips in a corolla, a miata, a mazda3, and an outback, and the JT has by far been the most comfortable. Overall range is a bit...
Tangentially related but I bought a sunrider back in February, sent in my rebate stuff right away, they didn't acknowledge receipt of it until mid-March and it's still "processing" as of mid-May. I guess there's still two weeks until "10 weeks" is up (at least from their acknowledgement, it's...
I'm sitting at just under 3000 miles and I haven't had any observable issues yet -- my JT is included in the clutch pressure plate recall though, so hopefully my transmission doesn't blow up before they have parts in for that lol.
My JT is my very first Jeep, and it's also the first one in my immediate family. It's my DD and I hope it will continue to be so for many years to come. Before this I was in a Miata, quite a change. I had been considering a Wrangler on and off over the years but the JT is what sold me in the end.
Following the instructions as written, after attaching the door rails you lay the header/deck assembly on top and then fasten everything — this is what I did, and as a result there are a couple “slots” in the rails that the ends of the deck should slot into but instead it was laying on top of...
Totally user error as suspected, took another look and realized the deck was not aligned properly with the door rails, adjusted that and everything is snug and looks right now.
I guess for future posterity and for other folks doing installs in the near future cuz of the rebates, don’t be a...
So I went ahead and ordered a Bestop Sunrider to take advantage of the rebate stuff and just installed it today — the fitment is pretty bad, I’m assuming I just did something wrong. The back is all bunched up, the fabric is pulling away from the drain rails a bit, the z-clip/wires are visible...
I'm 38 and I went for the manual, got about 3k on it so far, still happy with it. Before that I drove a stick Miata as my daily for 6 years, not sure why everybody here seems to assume that none of us (relatively) younger folks drive stick around here, heh.
Personally, I'm looking at it this way -- my JT is getting ~20% worse gas mileage than my old Miata, but the cost difference in the 87 octane vs the 93 around here that I had to put in the Miata is like ~20-30% so I may actually be coming out ahead on gas costs on a good day!
FWIW I largely ignore the value on my cluster -- I calculate my mpg via an app on my phone, I just fill in the mileage and fuel amounts on fill-ups. On my trips I use a Garmin GPS and didn't see any discrepancies with my speedo. Seems like it does fine on the highway (~21 for me), and does...
Anywhere from ~65 to 75 depending on where I was -- mostly 70-75. Occasional and brief forays into the low 80s. Mostly stock Overland, manual, probably carrying somewhere between ~500 and 700 pounds over the curb weight (2 passengers, a bunch of luggage, some tools, diamondback tonneau)...
Around town, and day-to-day commuting I'm getting around ~13.5. On a longer trip (about ~550mi each way, almost completely highway) I was averaging ~21.
I placed an order on the 14th (this past tuesday, after reading some updates here!) for just the shift knob and it came in yesterday -- granted, I just wanted a plain one, no printing or inlay etc. Oddly, unlike Puttyandnapalm's experience, my order came with the proper jam nut. super easy...
I’d guess shipping would be ridiculously expensive, given the highly unusual/long shape. Would have to find something to pack it in as well — local pickup would be ideal.
