  1. Getting ready to off-road for the first time, what is this truck capable of? How to plan my build?

Surge- I personally wouldn’t go real big on tires. You can do 35’s stock but you’ll need to space them out so they don’t rub on tight turns. 17x9” and -12mm back space wheels work good without spacers. Either your really hard on that truck or what, you should be getting way better gas mileage...
  2. Quadratec review: one of the best companies I've dealt with

I’ve been buying 99% of my Jeep stuff off of them for years. Never a problem, excellent service, and about the fastest shipping out there. They have good deals and sales that help keep things affordable if your not an impulse buyer. And, I’m glad to help support fellow Pa. boys even if they are...
  3. Clock not keeping time

Gatorized- I agree. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the radio. It all depends where the clock is kept. It could be a body computer or or another computer / module. But wherever it is it ought to be addressed not just dismissed. I’ve had 9 Jeeps in various models and this is the first to have...
  4. Clock not keeping time

I have the small screen, no satellite, no gps radio. It looses 3 minutes a week, every week since July. Dealer says there is nothing they can do. One night out of the clear blue it lost over 2 hours. That only happened once. The three minutes isn’t terrible just annoying. I reset it every...
  5. Am I wasting money upgrading to Rubicon Fox 2.0 shocks and adding a 2” lift or or level?

If it’s pure stock. Maybe. Measure what you have now and figure what you will have by adding 2”” in front and 3/4” in back. I needed 2 1/2 to make up for mine with it down originally and then the bumper/winch weight. Pure stock mine was 1 1/2” low in front. 2” in front might make you a bit high...
  6. Am I wasting money upgrading to Rubicon Fox 2.0 shocks and adding a 2” lift or or level?

DylanR- if I was going to do it again, that’s the way I’d go. Good thought. Wylde- I kicked that around but decided it looked good as is. I like the front end up vs down. I just ran the headlights down 2” and it all good. It’s as high as I want it now and will gain a couple inches when I get...
  7. Overland catches fire for no reason

I’m no fire expert but it looks like it was awful hot around the electric power steering pump. Looks like it was behind the winch unless the winch wiring rubbed through on something under the hood. Man, that aluminum really melted!!! Either way, what a bitch. Sorry for the poor guys loss.
  8. Am I wasting money upgrading to Rubicon Fox 2.0 shocks and adding a 2” lift or or level?

I swapped out my Sport suspension for Rubicon take offs. Just used the Fox shocks and the springs as that is all that is different. It raised the truck but still low in front. Then put on my steel bumper and winch and the front end drooped another 1”. So I put a Rough country 2 1/2” lift in the...
  9. Anybody know a place in Florida where they hellcat swap the gladiator

Smart idea? Not really. If you have that kind of money, ship it to the best place you can find to do that weather in Fla. or not. What’s a couple more bucks. The price tag is part of the bragging!
  10. Does Tru-lok have any sort of auto LSD feature?

The Trak-Lok has clutches that are under the side gears inside the carrier. They bind up and react to heat and does let torque go out to both wheels/tires pretty much equally. The axles are splined to the side gears. The Limited Slip part is when go around bends, it overpowers the clutches and...
  11. What does this scroller do!?

So!!! I do have door handle lights. A little LED in the top of the handle pull cups and only the front doors. I most always have my dash lamps all the way up. The two clicks at the top of the right rheostat, the first locks the dash and other interior lamps on high and the top click turns on...
  12. What does this scroller do!?

I too have a Sport S. I have no door handle lighting. Only the lock and unlock buttons are illuminated and are dimmable with the dash lamp rheostat. The right side thumb wheel. I can’t get the left wheel to control anything. I only have a drivers side footwell lamp. Everything is either dimmed...
  13. What gas milage are you getting?

Sport S with 3.73’s, 6 speed, and a roll up tonneau. Pure stock. 3 days a week, 44 miles to work and back round trip. Other days just runnin around. Last 3 tanks 20.75 mpg. This thing rolls way better than my 08 JK and my 14 JKU, both sticks also.
  14. Rubicon suspension takeoff question

TTE Chris is correct. The Rubicon stock lower control arms, all 4 sway bar links and spring seats are all the same. All you really need to change are the springs and shocks. The rest are all spare parts. The lift kit, longer new sway bar links, and lower control arms were to accommodate the...
  15. Difference between Sport S and Rubicon Suspension

Yea, I know what others posted but I measured before and after. I drove it and measured after it settled in. Put it together loose and torqued everything loaded at curb weight. I wish I got 3/4”. For another post——Having someone look up the spring numbers, looks like Chrysler reversed their...
  16. Difference between Sport S and Rubicon Suspension

I just swapped out the non max tow springs and shocks on my Sport S manual for Rubicon take offs. I have trailer tow, just not max. It was a max tow Rubicon automatic. All 4 sway bar links, and lower control arms are identical. The Rubicon springs and Fox shocks were the same exact length as my...
  17. Spacers needed for winch/bumper weight?

I doubt that 1/2” will do it. On my 2014 JK it dropped a good 1 1/2” when I put mt stubby bumper and winch on. Bumper, winch, grille protector hoop, d rings weighed in at 165#. I’d go 1 1/2”
  18. Georgia LE wheels and tires Nitto 35’s

I’d be very interested if you could get them to Pittsburgh. $1000 for four or $1250 if there’s five.
  19. Difference between Sport S and Rubicon Suspension

IMHO the control arms control caster, ball joints and axle housing do the camber. Lifting in any form pushes the frame up making the control arms roll the axle housing. If you do nothing to the tie rod ends your toe stays the same. My axle housing looks like they have adjustment with cams in the...
