EOC is stuck in there ways. The reason to do it is for durability.
the throttle valve causes turbo surge when snow wheeling I’ve proven this time and time again it randomly closes. Yes this is even stage 2. It’s commanded open but for some reason it does funky stuff. If it fails it will cause...
Gen 2 intake and throttle valve gasket part numbers:
Gladiator ecodiesel gasket part numbers are below
I am also EOC stage 2. I have been trying to get a used turbocharger for months to send to a shop to get reworked. We need a billet shaft with a 8 or 9 blade turbine and a larger intake...
Get an amp that takes high level input with turn on and off. Rockford small amps work great. Pull the pillar by the passenger seat and positap one of the speakers wires. Super easy. Then run a power wire done deal.
It was great. I upgraded to their dual 10” option with a seat lift and added some larger subs to hit lower frequencies better. I put the single 10” box in a Mazda cx30 I have for work and it is incredibly loud.
Yall missed out. A tuned ecodiesel gladiator was the peak. Tons and tons of torque. 24mpg mixed on 38” tires. It was the ultimate engine.
Everything else will be government mandated electrified junk from here. It might 20 miles per gallon at the cost of reliability and weigh 30% more.
Put a lift kit on it. Not a big deal. 3.5” is best. Yes the choppy rough ride is due to it being overweight and having lowered bump stops.
Drive on a smooth road and it’s not an issue :) that’s what Jeep will tell you.
You are way way overthinking this.
The metal cloak spring rates are soft and pair well with a firm shock so most aftermarket shocks work fine.
I ran the rocksport shocks and it was OK rode nicely but couldn’t keep up in the dirt. I moved to teraflex falcon 3.3s and can adjust as needed...
I’ve run the KN for 40k now. Cleaned it twice. The prefilter on the lid is very fine I replaced it with oiled UNI dirtbike foam (cut to fit) and I clean this after every big off-road trip.
Oil analysis shows no excess dirt or any major issues
Mishimoto confirmed their radiator does fit the 3.0l diesel.
I asked if there’s plans for an intercooler upgrade or coolant hoses and got a cold shoulder. @Mishimoto I have 4 of us with diesels that would buy coolant hoses and intercoolers right now. I’m sure there’s more on this forum.
I have been running amsoil signature max duty 15-40 since my third oil change around 24k I am at 40k on the dot.
no issues and the oil analysis has come back with drastically reduced aluminum and iron each oil change it drops. It also has held visocity better than whatever pennzoil the factory...
Sounds like the insane diesel helps. A overlooked component is gearing. My jeep on 3.73's has much higher oil temps climbing grades than a friends jeep on 4.88s and 40s.
We both still hit 250 at some point at higher speed but they get there slower.
I have never derated on my gladiator on 38s...
I ignore all that after having two of these gladiators. The factory system is designed poorly and defective from the get go.
I did as stated and have consistent voltage and no more battery issues and ESS can function if you want.
40k miles on my diesel with the aux deleted and a larger AGM...
The aux negative ground goes from the main down to the aux. By moving it to the fender your just adding another grounding path to the factory location. No harm no foul.
Don’t remove any fuses. Run the aux power up to the main. Then take the aux ground and run it to the fender. Everything works perfectly and you get much more stable voltage. If you use ESS occasionally your radio will reboot. Like 1 out of 10 times.
Has anyone activated the paddles with the tazer on a diesel? Does it gear hold or does it stil automatically upshift?
I have a transmission toon and it still auto upshifts even in M. Normally not a big deal but when snow wheeling it goes from 30mph wheel speed to shifting and going to 60 pretty...
I have that and I’ve run 4 oil changes with analysis on all of them, there’s no difference. Less hard carbon spot in the intake but we have high pressure EGT in these which is cleaner as is.
Running a stage 2 tune does jack diddly for the oil no matter how it’s been sold.
